Suggestions for which record player to buy on AMAZON?

I was wondering of any of you others can help Me and give a opinion on which record player to buy from amazon .I have never owened a record player before.I'm looking to buy prince albums on vinyl cuz they sound better than cd's or so that's what I've heard .I found one on amazon with built in speakers but reviews say the sound isn't great .But I have a small room so maybe it won't be so bad...then I found a nice record player for double the price.its about $80 but u have to buy speakers for it. And I'm embarrassed to say I'm afraid if I get speakers I won't have any idea on what I'm doing to get them to hook up right .I want to get a nice one and easy to assemble .But I don't want to spend more than $100 on the record player itself. Can any of u make any suggestions ? Thanks

My suggestion is go to your local wrecka stow or a stereo system store.

My fave stereo system back in the day was Technics.

You aren't going to find much under a $100 bucks... if you can afford a little bit more I'd suggest these. Our I suggest saving up until you can get this because anything below this price point, junk.

The Orbit comes with and without a built-in preamp... preamp builit-in will cost you more. But you could purchase a cheap Chinese amp $10.00 / 20.00 buck off eBay. I'll ask JoeBala to give you his thoughts because he hooked me up with the amps. Do you have speakers.

Around 1998 or 1999 I had to go out and buy a record player becuz a Song that I wanted to purchase was only released on Vinyl....I went to Circuit City and told the Sales Guy what I was looking for and he sold me on a decent looking Aiwa stereo system....It was around $100 bucks...It came with the Record player, 3 CD-changer, dual Cassette player and speakers...It was cheap, never bought an Aiwa product before...I thought it would last maybe 5yrs... 17yrs later that shit still works..LOL....I use it in the guest room where I keep my Desk Top....I've moved a few times in 17yrs and the thing still plays records, CD's & old Cassette tapes....

So don't invest a whole lot of money in a record player...I recommend the Aiwa brand because it's lasted a very long time and the price is affordable...

Yeah, I also had a system from Kenwood that lasted 20 years, but had to repace it recently. I am lucky enough to have a good record store nearby, so I bought my turntable there. Online, maybe you can try www.analogshop.com. If you click on turntables and scroll to the one with the Kind of Blue album, that's the one I have. (Including the album although not on blue vinyl!) It may be beyond your budget, but there's cheaper ones that are also good.

There are better sounding tables around but I think you would need to get into about the $400 range to start worrying about sound quality. That looks like a decent one that would get the job done for the price you're willing to pay. If you don't have access to a good used audio shop in your area then, this seems reasonable.

The Amazon reviews appear helpful...I always get worried when I see a million Reviews that say "Verified purchase"...I've been leaving Reviews on Amazon for years and they never came with a special tag like that...Amazon should do away with it...

Most of them are fake reviews. Amazon just announces yesterday they are limiting the number of reviews you can give

in a month. One of the issues are, some are claiming their product was a "gift" hence they are able to leave a review... for something they don't have. Rule of thumb to all, read the bad reviews 1st when you see numerous 4/5 star reviews.

Technics has the rep for best turntables.

I'd buy a DJ-quality turntable, due to sound quality and sturdiness.

As an aside, I'd also buy an extra needle or 2 while you're at it; you'll need them.

I had one of these. It was the coolest turntable ever made! I wish I'd never sold it.

TkgqD9Jh.jpg

It's called an "Accutrac". It was the first "computer-programmed" turntable. Basically, you could arrange the order in which the tracks were played by using the number buttons along the front. It even had a remote control that could also be used to program track orders.

It worked OK. The sensor read some album's tracks better than other albums. Of course, a "Lovesexy" album isn't going to give you any track options, LOL.

I can't even find one for sale right now. But man is this a cool looking turntable!

That is a very nice record player! Well I went with my gut feeling and bought the player in the link I provided.Reviews say the sound isn't very loud but I have a small room.So maybe it wont be so bad and I think I can hook up my computer speakers to it.

Adorecream

Avoid anything by Crosley or machines that have mostly plastic components or anything that is in a suitcase. Many records are being ruined by cheap record players like these with heavy arms that wear away the vinyl.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Image result for ion idj 03

I have a Ion IDJ 03 hoever it is discontinued. It still works wonderfully however and the mixer is great even though basic. I would recommend their other brands. Ion makes good equipment. This was $200 at the time.
