In your budget range,....
I'd suggest you checkout Edifier Speaker Bluetooth speakers series & Grace Digital GBI-BTSP201. Be that as it may I'd recommend, you purchase Bluetooth speakers that support aptX an audio codec designed for CD-quality audio transfer over Bluetooth. The problem with Bluetooth audio has always been digital compression: in order to send your audio to your speakers, you were forced to sacrifice quality. Even thought Bluetooth has gone from 2.0, 3.0., and to4.0 the sound quality still sucks. Even with aptX Bluetooth, all the Bluetooth speakers I've tested, treble and bass are sacrificed because of compression.
Still if you bump up to aptX Bluetooth, the price of those Bluetooth speakers increase in cost. Another thing, Bluetooth 2.4Ghz wireless travels along the same frequency of the other devices in your home... wireless mice, TV/Smart keyboards, Wi-Fi signals, other people wireless devices, even microwaves. Audio drop, buzzing, chirping aren't always occur because of distance from the paired B.T.; its because you B.T. is fighting for frequency on the 2.4 wireless lane.

^^^ Excellent info! I'll look into the aptX thing. I've not heard of it, but then again I don't keep my ear to the ground as much as I should on things like this. I'm not looking to host big parties or anything. I'd just like something when we hang outside that doesn't sound like a 1970s AM radio poolside. It's interesting you mentioned the quality because all my CDs and LPs are in lossless format, so it'd be nice to hear at least most of that. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I was able to pair (without wires, you have to download an App from iTunes)... even when I had just one my husband thought I'd purchased a soundbar for TV in the guestroom and he was outside of the house. They may still sale these at Best Buy / Target but UE Mini can be purchased at new on amazon.com Some folks have complained about pair these speakers via App... I haven't had any issue.
