Hey Happy Diwali!

...so, it was fireworks night here yesterday and today.... had a blast! biggrin Y'all do some celebrating too! smile

then again, that doesn't explain the mexican festival of the dead, also held around october 31st:

The Day of the dead has similarities 2 Samhain (The Celtic origin of Halloween) in that they both deal with the ancestors.

For Día de Muertos, which Old Town here has a big thing about it. This was there.

Yeah, THANKS Jedi - these guys were changing the topic and stuff! WTF is Halloween, anwyay? (Actually, I've BEEN in a country where it's celebrated, but all that happened was that they dressed up in these costumes n stuff - not much fun besides that).

What's that stuff you said?

That's "Happy Day of the Dead" in Spanish.



Mostly celebrated in Mexico.
It's a pre-Colombian celebration for the deceased.
I believe that besides the skeleton costumes and candy, people go to their loved-one's tombs with flowers and offerings(?).
