when i do not feel safe doing something i you know stop doing that thing... it is a sickness that people want to ban things just because of how the FEEL or that seem dangerous.

Players' size, strength and speed has increased beyond our ability to counteract it. I forget the exact numbers, but it's something like this:

Players that are 10% bigger, 10% faster and 10% stronger than players from 20 years ago can inflict something like 6 times more force when they hit someone. It's a geometric increase of gigantic proportions.

So what happens in a few years when players are 5% - 10% bigger, faster and stronger than they are today? That's going to happen.

it was one thing to be hit by a 190-pound linebacker, or a 220-pound defensive end that ran a 6-second 40 yard dash. But I cannot imagine being whalloped by a 260-pound linebacker that can run a 4.6, or a 310-pound lineman that can run a 5.0. Holy moley, I am glad I don't play football today.

.

Cam is right....for whatever reason, the refs are allowing hits on him they wouldn't allow on ther QBs. That hit below the knees was outrageous.

NFL refs are just as bad as NBA refs.

Wait a minute. Did Cam actually say I don't feel safe playing football?
You mean Mr.Hot dog, Mr.Mustard, Superman is bitching about taking extra hits.
I get it in a sense considering you couldn't fart near Brady or Manning but I don't want to hear it from Cam. You're such a badass when you're winning and rubbing it in the defense face then you proceed to make a 5 minute dance celebration and take a team photo on the sideline. Remember last season when Cam told the media when the Titans complained about showing them up if you don't want me to dance in your end zone don't let me in. Well teams aren't letting him in as much and defenses are taking every opportunity to bust him in the mouth. Do I think he deserves some cheap shots? No but when you rub it in the defense face they gonna beat you to a pulp when they get the opportunity and then Cam wants to pout and shit when he gets his ass handed to him. Well tough shit big boy. Big Ben gets hit all the time and keeps ticking, so did Vick, so does Rivers and they keep it moving.
Don't laugh at my funk

Junior Seau comes to mind. Traumatic brain injury is real amongst other catastrophic injuries suffered by pro athletes, especially NFL players.

I was just gonna say, they let Ben get the snot knocked out of him regularly.

Cam tore his ass with me in the superbowl when he choked on that damn fumble, so when he says he doesn't feel safe I kinda remember that shameful debacle, which was inexcusable for an NFL quarterback.

I agree with your point that Cam is the wrong messenger but they still need to address the issue.

He and Dave Duerson killed themselves due to conditions associated with CTE. Mike Webster and others have died from complications with injuries sustained while playing. Jim McMahon has severe memory loss. Steve Smith, a running back with the Raiders, has a degenerative disease from his career injuries that are so severe he can only move his eyes now. There are a LOT of players out there whose injuries didn't set in until well after their playing days were done.

Thank you. I was trying to recall some more names. The NFL suppressed the information for a long time too.

hmm maybe they should use these and focus on bashing the ball around the field, rather than throwing or kicking it.

That was simply a missed call, it happens every game. Cam needs to shut up and play the game.

The problem for the refs is how to administer calls on running qbs. A pocket qb is easy, but once he decides to run the ball he loses all qb protection and becomes just like a runningback. Head shots should still be flagged, but any leg shots will go unflagged.

The problem for the nfl is the running qb. Its whats coming out of college. Newton, mariota, tebow, manzeil, RG3, colin k. Very few pro style qbs are coming out and the few good ones in the league are retirement age, brady, brees, manning, rivers. The game is gonna be different in a few years, and its all negative for the nfl. Running qbs simply cannot last with that style. Def are too big and fast and are headhunting for qbs because it gives their team a better chance to win.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
