Fan Duel and Draft King Can't Pay Their Bills

I've been telling you that the daily fantasy companies are rigged games, and many states agree. If you play either FanDuel or DraftKing, you are probably in the 90% of their customers who lost money. And you lost your money to either a professional gambler/computer algorithim creator; an employee of FanDuel/DraftKing; or someone who is both.

These two companies have blown through a billion dollars. What a total waste.

The daily fantasy companies have been bludgeoned in many states, none more so than by New York. FD and DK have settled with the state of New York to the tune of nearly $12 million, but they can't pay that all at once. They've asked New York for an installment program. If I was New York, I'd say "No, pay everything you can right now and then we'll talk".

If you have money with either FanDuel or DraftKing, you're probably screwed. Getting money out of them seems nearly impossible, and it WILL be impossible if either/both companies declare bankruptcy. You'd better hurry up and cross your fingers.

Stay away from these scams.

DraftKings and FanDuel are so short of cash, according to the two people familiar with the negotiations, that they have asked Mr. Schneiderman’s office if they can pay the final settlement in installments, and they have conceded that they are having difficulty meeting their day-to-day obligations.

Within the past three weeks, the New York-based FanDuel has laid off more than 60 people, and both companies have acknowledged that they are months behind in their payments to vendors, especially to the array of public relations and lobbying firms that they have employed across the nation to persuade individual state legislatures to legalize daily fantasy games — the most critical component of rebuilding their business.
