I do all the time..I don't mind though cause it just means I will look younger when I am older.

I'm old...no one cards me anymore. Now it's "you don't look a day over 28-29 years old." That's the best I can get right now.

I got carded for cigarettes a few weeks ago. I'm 27. There's no way I look like a teenager. It was just plain bizarre.

I get carded all the time.. I am 27.. but i certainly dont' think i look 18 or 21... I guess we should take that as a nice compliment.

I think there are two factors at play here:

• People have a hard time guessing my age. They either guess too high or too low. (Some people have said that I look younger than my age, but act older.) You know those carnival games where you win a prize if they can't guess your age within two years? I always walk away with a prize.
  
• When I order an "adult beverage," it's usually a red wine. My guess is that underage drinkers stick with beer or the hard stuff. But if I confidently order something off the wine list, I think it sends a message that I'm probably of legal age.
  

Natsume: Most of the time they're satisfied with my Indiana driver's license. There is, however, one club in town that requires two ID's, and on two occasions at other clubs without such a policy, I've been asked for a second ID. I just show them my Maine state ID card, and that satisifies them.

Oh, one other tip: when I was 20 I had the opportunity to fly in first class a few times (frequent flyer upgrades), and they never asked for ID.

A funny story that came to mind...

Back in the late 1980s, my mother flew to Oregon and wound up having to spend like seven hours in the Denver airport due to a missed connection. The airline gave her a meal voucher, and she took it to one of the airport restaurants to get some food and a beer.

For whatever reason, the restaurant had a policy of requiring ID from all customers seeking alcohol who appeared to be under 40 years old. Well, she was 38 at the time, and she had no ID on her. (Obviously, this was back when airport security was much less stringent.) The waitress seemed to recognize that my mother was clearly over 21, but because my mother had no ID, they wouldn't serve her a beer. She had to settle for Diet Coke instead.

I get carded for alcohol when I am not with

my kids, but when I have 3 children hanging

on me I guess they assume that I must be over 21.

so they dont bother. When I do get carded it makes my day!

i always get harrassed whenever i get carded because people think that it's not my license... ... i change the way i look so often (hair colors and styles and length and whatnot) that people always harrass me... and they always do it in that accusatory "this guy must be a hoodlum" tone...

"yes, who elses would it be?"

"you're right, it's not mine... i jacked it from some poor guy on my way in"... at which point they always look at me as if they actually believe it...

My grandmother used to tell me, "Chile, be happy cause black dont crack!" I would smile when she used to say that.
