Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead may be the worst episode ever made in the long-running zombie franchise. I certainly can’t remember a time I’ve laughed this hard at the bad writing and terrible plot devices. I can’t remember another episode this thoroughly wasted on side characters we don’t care about, that dragged on indeterminably, weaving drunkenly from one ludicrous scene to the next. Now, before people start yelling at me for “hating on” this show, I’d like to point out that in Season 7 I have had overall mixed feelings so far. I liked things about the season premiere—it was incredibly intense, for instance—and disliked others. I liked both the second and third episodes. It wasn’t until last week that I truly started to find myself irritated and bored. But even last week’s plundering of Alexandria looks good compared to the steaming mess that is episode 5, “Go Getters.” The episode can be broken down into two main storylines. In one, we have Enid and Carl heading toward Hilltop. In the other, we have Gregory yelling at people at Hilltop, and then getting yelled at by Jesus, with a Savior-filled interlude. Neither of these stories is worth the screen time. We’ll start with… Carl & Enid Carl and Enid finally kiss, and I suppose we’re supposed to be happy for them, but all I could think is that Carl should go for Michonne. Just kidding, sort of. Whatever the case, the two don’t have any chemistry to speak of. They even walk about 10 feet apart from one another on the path, until they find the roller skates. Everything is forced about these two. The way they talk to one another. There’s no spark. But that’s not the worst part. The worst part was when Enid was making her way to Hilltop alone and comes across a lone zombie. This zombie, who is all by itself shuffling slowly across the street far away, makes Enid Very Afraid. The music gets tense, and the camera flashes back and forth between Enid and the zombie, and you get the feeling that the director and writers are trying to make the audience just as Very Afraid as Enid appears to be. Then, just in the nick of time, sort of, Carl shows up and crushes the Lone Zombie with his car. What is this nonsense? Why is Enid afraid of one zombie? She’s spent tons of time on her own out in the apocalypse and she’s killed plenty of walkers. As viewers, we’ve also seen many hundreds of zombies die. We’ve seen whole towns overrun with the undead. Do they really expect us to feel a moment of fear as this far away zombie shuffles toward the perfectly capable Enid? Are we supposed to feel relieved when Carl shows up to save the damsel in distress? I just laughed. It was one of many instances in tonight’s episode where the only reaction I could muster was a laugh of disbelief. Enid asks Carl what he was doing out here and he says he just thought he’d take a drive. We, the audience, see that for what it is: An incredibly transparent lie that Carl isn’t telling to be deceitful, but in an almost joking manner. Of course, Enid takes it seriously, believing that it’s just coincidence he’s out for a drive in the same area she is right after she told him where she was going. Later in the episode she says, “You weren’t just out for a drive were you?” To which I wanted Carl to respond, “Uh…no, Enid. Did you really take me literally when I said that? Have you fallen on your head or something?” This is just a tiny bit of the terrible, no-good, very bad dialogue sprinkled throughout ‘Go Getters.’ In fact, I think the dialogue is even worse in…

yikes. What will Carl do at the Sanctuary? Here's what we know from 'The Walking Dead' comics.By Miles Surrey
November 21, 2016 The TV adaptation of The Walking Dead has a decent amount of room to tweak the comic book's storyline. In fact, there have been quite a few deviations from the source material in the show's seven seasons. One of the biggest ongoing departures is Daryl Dixon, a beloved fan-favorite character (who really needs a haircut) that only exists in the show's canon. He's a big part of the series — with fans promising to riot if he ever gets killed off — and it's with Daryl that one of the comics' most interesting storylines with Negan was seemingly diverted. We get our first glimpse of Negan's home, the Sanctuary, through Daryl's torturous imprisonment that includes eating dog food and listening to the horridly catchy "Easy Street." It's a touch different from our first look at the Sanctuary in the comics, which we see through the eyes (or eye, to be painfully literal) of Carl "Coral" Grimes. But after season seven's fifth episode, "Go Getters," in which Carl sneaks onto a Saviors truck heading to the Sanctuary with Jesus, it looks like we'll be treated to some iteration of that storyline as well. So what exactly happens in the comics? Put simply, Carl just tries to start some shit. He guns down a few of the Saviors at the Sanctuary before he's subdued. Given Negan's distaste for how Rick and the group killed a ton of his people — leading to him killing Glenn, and in the show, also Abraham — one would assume he'd punish or kill Carl for doing so. That doesn't happen. Instead, he basically takes Carl for a tour of the Sanctuary. It highlights the strange yet compelling relationship between Negan and Carl in the comics that the show hasn't really touched on yet. Negan is impressed by and respects Carl's toughness (remember: When Negan visits Alexandria in the show, Carl doesn't back down either). And while Carl goes along with Negan in the comics and assumes the mentee role, Carl consistently reminds Negan that yes, he still really wants to kill him. So if Carl's trip to the Sanctuary takes a similar turn to the comics, it could set the foundation for the peculiar Negan-Carl relationship that still persists in the comics. Considering what Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, has said about season seven, it's something we ought to expect. "I'm interested in the relationship between Negan and Carl, and Carl and Rick," Lincoln told Cinema Blend. "There's a very complicated, extraordinary psychology between those characters."

no way There’s Evidence Carl Grimes Will Die On ‘The Walking Dead’If Carl dies, we riot.
You can see this coming a mile away, even if you’re rocking an eye patch. Things already weren’t looking good for Carl Grimes on “The Walking Dead.” His eye has been shot out, the Saviors are now in control of Alexandria and he’s going after the new villain, Negan, despite the fact that his aim is like this:
AMC
The speculation is that Carl Grimes, aka Chandler Riggs, is going to be killed off “Walking Dead” so Riggs can go to college. The actor tweeted about his future plans to attend school earlier in November: Ok, so Carl is going to college. No big deal, right? Unless you’re Enid. Long distance relationships aren’t ideal for the zombie apocalypse. ayy i just got accepted into auburn
Then Riggs’ father posted a message about his son completing his “Walking Dead” contract, and that’s what has everyone worried: Yeah, William Riggs, Chandler’s father, included “#freedom” at the end of the message. Comicbook.com reports a since deleted Facebook message from Riggs’ dad was even longer and “sounds a lot like a goodbye.”
Fans of the comics know Carl has a large role to play still on “The Walking Dead,” and comic creator Robert Kirkman previously said Carl was his favorite character in a Reddit AMA. It’d be strange for him and showrunner Scott Gimple to kill him off so soon. Auburn University, where Riggs is set to go to school, is driving distance from where the show films in Georgia: Going to school and staying on the show also seems manageable. Plus, as far as contracts, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus reportedly recently renegotiated their contracts for Season 8. Even if Riggs’ contract is finished, that doesn’t mean he’s gone. Still, in the same AMA that Kirkman named Carl as his favorite character, he also joked about killing Carl. In response to a fan asking about a spoiler, Kirkman said:
Don’t you get any ideas, Negan.

oh em gee!!! say it ain't so!!!! Ratings for ‘The Walking Dead’ are the lowest they’ve been since 2012BGR NewsNovember 27, 2016
The Walking Dead has long been a ratings juggernaut for AMC, but viewership numbers over the past few episodes suggest that interest in the zombie-themed drama is falling ever so slightly. Despite a highly anticipated premiere that nearly broke series viewing records with just a hair more than 17 million viewers, viewership for subsequent episodes has been declining steadily.
According to Comicbook, the drop off from episode 1 to episode 2 was huge, with the second episode of the season 7 attracting approximately 12.5 million viewers. While that drop off is understandable given the hype and speculation surrounding the season premiere, viewership has continued to trend downward ever since.
To be fair, the show is still pulling in monster numbers, but there does seem to be a growing consensus among some fans that the current season isn’t up to snuff with previous efforts. Last week’s episode aside, I personally think the show is as strong as ever. Not only are we slowly but surely building up to what will undoubtedly be a can’t-miss showdown between Rick and Neegan, it’s also fascinating to see how Rick and co. adjust to a world where they’re no longer calling the shots, no longer controlling their own destiny. What’s more, The Walking Dead is no stranger to dragging a bit mid-season. Season 5, for example, had a few snoozers towards the back half of the season before things finally picked up over the last few episodes. All that to say this: viewership may be the lowest we’ve seen since 2012, but it stands to reason that it’s just at temporary lull before fans get back on board as season 7 kicks into full gear.

Yes. I especially liked the change of setting and the beach scene. What a relief to see the ocean instead of green forests and swamps all the time. That´s why I still watch Fear the Walking Dead even though the show has its flaws....the change of scenery makes it worth watching for me. . Tara suprised me and really carried this episode well. I never knew she was such a good fighter....and a passionate runner.
This was a really good episode. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
