A few years ago upon returning home I was greeted by my cat having done very much the same thing. However, there was no cutout for her head and she ended up getting herself stuck tightly around her midsection within the confines of the bag handle. She might have been like this for hours, as I was returning home from work. Most of the bag at this point I found ripped to pieces all over the house where she had obviously tried to extract herself from this predicament.

Besides being a bit shaken, anxious, and embarrassed, she was fine. But I sure do wish I had that video.

my birds do too. those brown paper bags for lunches are a lot of fun for them

when we were little kids we used to play inside old refriegerator boxes. cut little windows and doors and such.

A few possibilities:

1. Increased stealthiness. Great hunters, even if mostly relegated to play.

2. As with kittens, prefer being engulfed in a protection.

3. A deep curiosity to explore and conquer all that is different. Not just boxes and bags, take the coverings off your bed and see how fast the cat meets the newly exposed mattress. Move as much as a molecule and the cat will detect it.

4. Not unlike a toddler, "watch me" and "mine" take on a significant role.

5. Extremely independent animals. Allows them to be social on their terms. I'm present but also hidden.

well, generally speaking horses are pretty benign. i think that guy would have been okay if he had behaved differently. here's the clip from another angle:

horse - minding its own business, and having a nibble. guy - intruding on horse and holding out what might have been a big, goofy looking carrot? maybe the horse was nearsighted???? bit the arm by mistake???

basically, horses are a lot like cats. for example they both like chasing rubber balls.....

they hang out together a lot
