Loved him as Willy Wonka. His roles with Richard Pryor in Stir Crazy and Silver Streak were great too. He made me love candy and all things sweet. rose

Another comedy I found really touching when I saw it as a teenager was Gene Wilder's "Quacker Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx" set in Ireland. Worth watching if you can find it. wink

The first Gene Wilder movie I ever seen was See No Evil Hear No Evil. I must have only been about 4 at the time. My mum's boyfriend at the time brought around a tape he recorded from the TV. I still have that tape in the attic, I might fish it out and watch it for old time's sake. A couple of years later I saw Willy Wonka in school and I thought it was weird that suddenly he was able to hear. I remember asking my teacher if he was really deaf. Thinking back, I wonder if she thought it strange that I was able to quote entire lines of dialogue from See no evil hear no evil, considering I was only about 6 years old... I know that movie doesn't get the same recognition as the likes of blazing saddles and young frankenstein but it will always be a classic to me.

Well because of your age. A good movie but not the best of Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor team ups. Stir Crazy and Silver Streak is better, check them out and you might agree. Also there is Another you
