DS9/Voyager/Enterprise = 18 seasons of Start Trek
JJ Abrams movies = about 6 hours total

Paul McGillion from Stargate Atlantis would have made a better Scotty. |

Now the bigger name is writing the script. A twofer.

And of course throw in a few of these:
And by gawd you've built a world 200 years in the future.
Another annoying thing.
I like Zoe, I really do. And I don't mind her Uhura even though I feel it's ashame that the world's visual aesthetics have actually gone backwards the past 50 years, but never mind that. I swear that upturned nose, stomping around, cutsey highschool-ish looking cliche-ish definace plucked my last nerve, I wanted to cut that swinging ponytail off. I really wanted dude to swing around and just pop her just once so I could see what she would do when cutsey crap don't work. What does she have in character to back all that stomping around up with?
To be continued...

Yeah they killed him off on Stargate Atlantis, fans were pissed and the writers knew that was a mistake and brought him back. |

Yorktown is a ship, don't know why the felt the name to call the space station that. Also I think they mentioned Admiral Paris, ancestor of Tom Paris of Voyager???

It's the alternate reality so every single ST series' technology/name/concept is all mashed up together in this timeline. That's to appease the ST fans, since we got all gushy about some of the pings and door swishes and other familiar sounds in the first movie, I guess. Obviously it did work on most except a few, some people actually walked out of the theatre I was in right in the middle of the movie. I'm sorry the more I think about it the less I like it. I got more but I'll throw in what I did like.
What I liked:
His portrayal of what Spock was going through, I bought into it hook, line and sinker. And it made perfect sense for the character, definitely uncharted territory for Spock. I even like his little arrogant smirk which is not part of the original charater but his own little mild twist, it makes it his.
The bonding scenes between these 2 were great when the cliches were dropped and they just talked to each other.

Well for me the best thing was the destruction of the mall of Enterprise. I still hate part 1 with a passion so anything is an upgrade. Spock could "donate" his DNA to help repopulate the Vulcan race so that shouldn't be an issue. Did feel sad seeing the actor who played Chekov knowing that he died. I did like Scotty's side kick Keenser, though he reminds me of a Jawa. I did like the twist is that those Aliens were the Franklin crew.

I'll admit it I'm a specist, I'm not crazy about non-humanoid looking aliens. But this guy I liked he lent some humor to the reboot, but he seemed kind of under-used this time around but here was a lot going on.
Yeah I got teary eyed a couple of times watching Anton. Sad for him, sad there'll be no more Chekov.
What was up with that Krall transformation? |

The Ultimate Guide has the nerve to have a quiz in the back.
"If Donald Trump were a Star Trek alien, he would be a Ferengi." Time
Newsweek gives the fan fiction some love. |

Beyond is my favorite of the last three. It really had the feel of an og star trek episode, imo. |
