Rest In Peace, Alexis Arquette

Alexis was born Robert Arquette in 1969. She was the sibling of Rosanna, Patricia, David, Richmond, and Cliff Arquette. She transitioned from male to female in her 30s. She was a supporter of other trans people, like Chaz Bono. Her film work remained largely in low-budget independent movies. But she also had guest roles on Friends, Xena, Felicity, and Roseanne. I remember, as well, in the sexual comedy Threesome with Stephen Baldwin, Josh Charles, and Laura Flynn Boyle.

You might also remember her as the Boy George impersonator in The Wedding Singer.

She died from "a lengthy illness". Her brother Richmond wrote on Facebook that she died just after midnight on September 11, while listening to David Bowie's "Starman". Richmond also added that he was "immensely grateful that it was fast and painless", regarding her last moments.

She was 47. sad

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

She managed to be good in an Adam Sandler film. Not many people can say that! Surrounded by family and to the sound of Bowie's Starman. Way to go, Alexis! May you rest in peace.
