I personally would not have cast him as Aquaman . But I'm interested to see it. Most people cast in these movies I would not have cast. I would not have cast Heath Ledger,Jared Leto, Chadwick Boseman, etc. I would probably have cast Angelina Jolie as Selina Kyle /Catwoman instead of Hathaway. But hey, That's why they get paid the big bucks . They know what they are doing and I don't.
Maybe it was the deep dark mysteries of underwater(almost like space) but the Aquaman scene was a bit (scary?) in a good way. Almost like an old 'In Search Of' episode
I say it's a good thing. Aquaman is the most-maligned hero in DCEU. Momoa not only reboots the character with Khal Drogo swagger, but he provides additional diversity in the Justice League.
The footage of Justice League released at Comic-Con looks very promising.

I think it's a horrible idea. Justice League will now be forced to shoehorn ocean/sea scenes in the movie with baddies from the ocean/sea - is Moby Dick gonna be in the film now? And I don't know if y'all know this, but Jason Momoa is a piss-poor actor.
Batman v Superman was a sprawling mess. The Lex Luthor story and reasons for pitting the two against each other was hard to follow. And if you follow Batman canon, he "dies" after fighting Superman, so if the movie was faithful, and Supes murked Bats, the film would have been much more poignant, in my opinion. This is because Batman resonates with us more than Superman does; he's human with no super powers.
I've always maintained the protector/king/whatever of the sea, crib of all earthly life, should wield a bit more primordial swagger than a Lands' End model dressed as a goldfish. I'm excited that this new characterization may finally get it right.
To ducci's point above, I agree Mamoa isn't the strongest actor, but the impression I get from the Justice League trailer (which I love) is that Aquaman will be mostly a brooding, badass supporting character. I'm cool with that. I do worry about his solo joint, though.

LOZLOOLLLOOZZZ! Nicely put.
Superpowers who use animals to fight their battles were always lame to me: Aquaman is gonna use sharks to beat up bad guys on Sea-Doos? Naval battles just aren't exciting to me and even the Greeks agree: Poseidon barely got any love in their mythology - heheheheh! I do not, how- ever, find it a coincidence when I pensively stare out into the sea and look to the horizon.

That's every role (except baywatch) Jason Momoa does

Well he knows he's not getting any roles playing a doctor, he said so, so he's sticking with what works.

The movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was not the movie version of The Dark Knight Returns . It only used some ideas from that story. Like one of the lines the Scarecrow delivers in Batman Begins actually comes from the comic Batman: The Long Halloween
Of course they have to show underwater scenes with Aquaman . He's one of the original members in the comic The Brave and The Bold #28 in the early 1960's . Cyborg however is not an original member.

I never said anything about B v S being the movie version of TDKR. I said in the Batman canon, the only time he fights Superman, as far as I know, Batman dies; this story line is found in TDKR, and B v S followed TDKR closely when it comes to the Batman/Superman rumble in the jungle. I used this to support my opinion of B v S carrying more weight if it stuck to that story line more closely: Batman dying means more to us than Superman dying because Batman is human.
B v S even makes a change in the very ending which harkens to TDKR where instead of there being a "clue" that Supes isn't dead (the soil on his casket begins to rise), Supes hears a faint hear beat coming Batman's casket suggesting he isn't dead!
Just based on their physical appearance, whenever I see either trailer I think Jason (whom refused to go blonde, What?) and Alexander Skarsgard should have traded roles. But what's done is done now, and I'll see it.
