It's the first Wednesday of the month so the city I live in is testing the air siren system like they always do on this day each month..

But it's really extra creepy hearing them this time after having been hearing them going off in the background of all the war coverage on TV.

I have the balcony doors open and I'm fairly close to one of the sirens (apparantly) and when they started going off it gave me me goosebumps for a couple seconds.

I hate those shits. I can't stand that noise!

At least they don't run em for very long. Now if I can only get my poor cat to come out from hiding under the bed..

My cat was an abandoned cat I took in awhile back, and he's veerrry nervous and skittish. He has this thing where he licks all the hair off his belly and the vet said it was due to how nervous of a cat he is.

He's probably under the bed right now creating another bald spot.

When I go to work in the morning, I have to throw a treat across the room so her fat butt waddles over there and doesn't notice I leave... she picks food over me

She's skittish too. When I move in my sleep she freaks out and attacks my leg, wrapping her arms and legs around it and doing that rabbit kick with her hind legs. Fun way to wake up

same here, amethyst...it's odd how up here in mpls they have the sirens go off durin a weekday. down in des moines they go off every first saturday of the month.

My other cat does that same thing at night as your kitty if I move my legs under the blankets. Waking up with claws and teeth sunk into your leg is so nice!

Kitties are fun though. I wouldn't trade em for anything.

Have you ever heard those things go off in the middle of the night, like during tornado weather or something?

REAL WEIRD.

Wake up to that noise in the middle of the night and you're jumpy for the rest of the day.
