Computer Help Please!!!! Ok, I have always been able to save images to my hard drive. They would always save as jpg. or bmp. Now I am trying to save images and it is saving them as ART. I can not open the image once saved because it cant read the format. When I right click to save I have no option to save the image in any other format. How can I fix this?? He calls me "Holi" cuz he says everyday w/ me is like a Holiday...

Hmmm...I dunno about 'art' files, buuut, if your comp is not opening BMP files all of a sudden, you might wanna check and make sure you still have 'MS Paint'...it's what windows uses to look at those.

Hmmm...ya try maybe doing a google search about them? Couldn't hurt. Honestly, I've never heard of 'art' files. Maybe it's a file you need a certan program to open, like how ya need Abobe to read PDF files or something???

This is a situation that exists in AOL and I found out the hard way! I lost some pictures I had of Prince that I thought I had saved correctly. That being said, this is what I now do and while it may take a bit longer, it works very well for me! Right click and go to Copy Go to your Start button and open Paint Click on Paste in Paint and your picture shows up Click on Save in Paint Put it wherever you want on your hard drive This will allow you to pull the pictures up whenever you like and put them in other documents or print them or whatever. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

You also may wanna consider switching to an ISP other than AOL. Everyone I know that uses it, complains about it for one reason or another.

People, can't believe ya'lls didn't catch one important thing in this... is NOT jpg. - it's .jpg!!! The dot goes before the extension!!! And I've never ever heard of .art No such thing. But apparently it's AOL poopiness, download the image as such, .art, THEN just single click on the name of the file and change it to .jpg I think that .art thing is an AOL only extension from way back in the early nineties. The real world doesn't use .art. After that you should be okay. But I REEEALLLY recommend getting out of AOL. I've seen FIRST HAND the damage they do to long time computer users. I set up a network for a client of mine where he wanted to move to DSL. He did, but once I got him setup with independent browsers and an email program he didn't understand. Been computing for 7 years, depending on AOL and he didn't comprehend the web, basic email program...I was really astonished. I am convinced that AOL psychologically has their users dependent on their software for the web. That is why AOL users just CANNOT get away from it, cancel the service or just drop it from their lives! Even when told that there is a $10 amonth internet ISP or even a $7 a month ISP, they STILL DO NOT let go of AOL. Maybe that's why you can't figure out the simple solution to your problem of a .art file. Anyway, that was my rant on AOL. oooo [This message was edited Fri Apr 4 22:35:31 PST 2003 by FlyingCloudPassenger]
