This is an email I just received from my brother:

"So I took some clothes to the Zip Cleaners and you know you have to pay up front. The clerk, little high school black girl, it was her first day, was so sweet, but what are they teaching these kids?! The bill came to $3.18. I gave her four singles. Now I know from experience that after she enters the transaction, the register will tell her I have $0.82 change coming. Poor thing was so confused trying to count out the coins, so I told her "two pennies, one nickel and three quarters". You know what she said? "Which one is the nickel?" I had to point out the nickels tray in the register. She wasn't too clear on the pennies and quarters neither. I started to call the manager over but I said why embarrass the girl, they'll find out soon enough."

and this is what I responded:

"OMFG!!! OMFG!!! Mike, I would have reacted right there had it been me. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS????!!!! You lying, Mike. You CANNOT be telling the truth. If this is true, it is egregious and downright pitiful. I was talking with some neighbors the other day about kids not knowing how to sign their names in cursive because they don't teach it anymore. WTF!! So now we have a whole generation of idiots."

Lord help us...

The dummying down of America has been happening for at least 40 years. When was the last time you saw a street signal that had the words "Walk" or "Don't Walk"? Or the last time you saw a kid figure in their head the sale price on a 20% off item? Part of it is a lack of education, and another part of it is a lot more time is spent on mindless things such as social media and video games instead of actually learning something. It is what it is, though ... and it won't be changing anytime soon.

..and they HAVE to employ these people......
