Alien: Hadleys Hope

Tells the story of the fall of Hadleys Hope. Basicaly a prequel of Aliens. Anybody agree? So what is your pick?

for starters, R. A. Macavoy's series:

MEMNOCH THE DEVIL anne rice

as a matter of fact, i would like them to

go back to the drawing board on

THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES and tell the story

as it should have been told (la stat's maker burned

himself in the fire and left la stat not knowin anything

THUS was he the way he was)

and armand was a child which made his character

what it was...

of course... aliya kinda made it impossible for anybody

else to play akasha BUT!!!

the only thing that prevented movies from adherin

to the books they came from was the technology

of the past... now the shit can be done 'cost effectively'...

if you've read the original book, you know that they only

cam close in this last movie "PAN" (which was pretty good)

i'd like to see them do with it (all movies i mention) what they did

with OZ THE MAGNIFICENT (which i'd like to see where that goes too)

I'd like a part two of "Shawshank Redemption" to see how Andy and Red fared. I love that movie and think Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins would be great in a continuation of their friendship and adventures with the charter business. Oh, I'm just trippin...

The Smedley Butler Story.

Well, until last night, it was "Last Man Club". This was a script from Bo Brinkman, formerly famous for being married to Melissa Gilbert. He's a local guy, and back in the last 90's he needed money. My dad and some of his friends funded Brinkman, and Brinkman dedicated the script to my dad and his buddies.

But the movie didn't get made. Charleton Heston was the original lead, but he developed Alzheimer's. Then Charles Durning (a true WWII hero) got attached, but then he dropped out (can't remember why). Anyway, I still have the original script with the dedication to my dad in it, but I didn't even know this movie was made until I saw a poster for it in my favorite Mexican restaurant last night!

I don't think this has been released (or maybe it doesn't have a distributor) but it's won some awards at film festivals.

I wouldn't trust today's Hollywood with any decent material.

That's fair. But the BBC and some of the Art Councils for other EU countries make great product. I could see them adapting classics and other European novels.

The Song of Roland would be an interesting and controversial adaptation given its subject matter.
