Monitor problems - help! I just plugged my computer tower back in and my monitor is now green! I noticed the little prongs on the pluyggy-inny-blue thing that connects the monitor to the tower are bent and missing and stuff (how THAT happened I have no idea). I think the blue thing may be connected to the monitor so I don't know if I can replace it.
Is there a problem with my monitor itself or with the blue thing? Is there any way to fix it? The monitor is relatively new (a little over a year old I guess) so what the hell is going on? The green screen is giving me a headache. Does any of this even make sense? I mean, like, where is the sun?

Oh, and is it bad for the monitor to keep it on if it's green? I want to listen to my MP3s.

I think you might just have to take it in to get fixed. They'll probably just replace the broken part.

I had a monitor at work, that turned purple when turned on.
Best way to get rid of it was to HIT IT HARD on the top. Just hit the monitor on all sides and find out what works! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi Natsume, you've either bent or broken a pin in the video connector (the bit where your monitor plugs into your PC) or else one of the guns in the monitor needs repairing. Remember though, the standard video connector (VGA connector) coming out of your monitor will look as if some pins are missing - they aren't. That's just the way it arranged. Make sure none are bent - if they are, fix it with a credit card. If none of this works, try a spare monitor of a friend.

Ian is exactly right... if you are lucky, your monitor has a detachable VGA cable... try replacing it with a new one and see if the problem goes away. If the new VGA cable does not help, you can always return it to your computer store and be out no cash. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com
