Copa America Centenario 2016

Hey! There's a major soccer tournament going on and it's being held right here in the U S of A!

It's the Copa Centenario 2016, and it's THE national tournament for teams in the Western hemisphere.

And guess what? 'Murica is in the semifinals! We beat Ecudaor last night, 2-1, and will face the winner of Argentina/Venezuela. Yep - we could be taking on Messi!

This has been a great tournament and I highly recommend you watch it. Go USA!

USA - Ecuador was great. In Seattle!

Watched Peru - Colombia tonight. Too bad it went straight to penalties with Colombia prevailing.

Looking forward to the 2 quarterfinals tomorrow.

Yeah, no extra periods kind of took a little sheen off that match. But I too am looking forward to the quarters!

I'd be very surprised if Venezuela beat Argentina. They drew a couple of weeks ago here in A Coruña against the Galician regional team, and if they can't even beat Galicia then I can't see them taking down Messi. Stranger things have happened though.

I wanted Paraguay to win sad

We've got a business dinner scheduled for Tuesday night!!!! ARRRGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

My wife has not warmed up to my suggestion of bringing the lady from Chicago with us to the sports bar to watch the match. But hey - she might be a giant soccer fan! Who knows? We need to do something about this dinner.

I'm skipping it. I've GOT to watch this match. I'll meet up with them after dinner.

Argentina 4-0 USA

Turned on the game to see the replay of Messi's 32nd minute goal.

Glad to see great fan support for the USA in Houston!

I'm bummed that we lost so badly, but Lionel Messi put on a clinic on how to dominate a game. This goal was a feat of absolute beauty.

Colombia 1-0 USA

USA finishes in 4th, matching their finish in the 1995 Copa America.

Tomorrow, Argentina vs. Chile
