Do you believe selfie-obsessed men are more likely to be psychopaths?

I heard the research a while ago, and seeing all the douchebag selfies taken by the Orlando shooter brought it to mind again.

So in your opinion, do men who take an extreme amount of selfies also happen to seem more likely to be a bit of a psycho?

https://news.osu.edu/news...d-message/

A new study showed that men who posted more online photos of themselves than others scored higher on measures of narcissism and psychopathy.

“It’s not surprising that men who post a lot of selfies and spend more time editing them are more narcissistic, but this is the first time it has actually been confirmed in a study,” said Jesse Fox, lead author of the study and assistant professor of communication at The Ohio...University.

“The more interesting finding is that they also score higher on this other anti-social personality trait, psychopathy, and are more prone to self-objectification.”

Narcissism is marked by a belief that you’re smarter, more attractive and better than others, but with some underlying insecurity. Psychopathy involves a lack of empathy and regard for others and a tendency toward impulsive behavior.

I am, but only when they are used responsibly. I almost never take selfies of just myself, and I've never taken one in front of a mirror. The whole selfie craze has gotten way out of hand, especially with the selfie sticks now.

I belive that they should have a range where people can go to take a take selfie. At the range they can have any back drop you like.

What about women? Can a woman not take a pic these days without sucking in her cheeks and pursing her lips? What's the point of a selfie that doesn't look llike you?

I think they tend to be more narcissistic and I think that people who are psychopathic are extremly narcissistic. But that doesn't mean men who take more selfies are psychopathic.

It's not a matter of being judgmental, it's about whether a certain type of behaviour could be reasonably interpreted as a possible red flag.

I'll do a Selfie if the Sun is out or if the location has good light-bulbs..Residential bathrooms have Good bulbs, public bathrooms have cheap bulbs...If the Light-Bulb is good then I look light-skin and I like that....maybe 2yrs ago an Orger (or whatever we call ourselves) created a thread in this forum asking members to post Butt-Selfies..I posted one...Should I consider myself a Psychopath or just your average Pervert?

Yes.

There is a correlation. If somebody does nothing else but posting pics of himself, it is clear that he assumes that people are thrilled to see his face. That shows lack of sympathy and narcisism.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

nod i'd take more selfies than i do except for the fact that i consider my entire breathing, moving, living life as one long extended selfie... so..... seems kinda pointless to bust it up into smaller moments along the way
