help! I have second degree burns!

So I laid out in the sun for 2 hours day before yesterday and woke up feeling very soar. My face was red and blistered .I went to the Dr and they had to give me a shot in my booty .that was the first . the doctor prescribed me 2 kinds of pills.one for my burns and one for pain .the burns and blisters are on my face.I'm kinda embarrassed to go out in public .my face is still tender to touch .I'm just wondering if anyone on here has had sunburn blisters on face and how long it took to heal ? I'm using aloe vera to heal my blisters. I'm really hoping I heal very soon

you might be uncomfortable for a couple of days. there are some medicated ointments that might help you, over the counter stuff with a mild analgesic. cold water and ice packs will also help, take it easy and hope you feel better soon!

Did you use sun screen? If so they say that sun screen does have life expectancy on them. So if you are using an expired one you will get sun burn. cooked

Sun protection here in Australia is no joke. 2 of my co workers regularly have to go to the skin doctor to get cancerous melanomas removed - if they didn't they would be dead.

Use aloe vera STRAIGHT from the plant, not in a bottle from a drug store. Cut the plant open and rub the jelly directly on to the burns. Any left overs you can put in a freezer bag and store in the freezer. That will heal the burns faster than anything. I only burned that bad one time in my life when I was 19 and then never again. ALWAYS wear sun block--the strongest you can whenever you are out in the sun longer than a few minutes. If you don't, you will live to regret it.

I got burned one time when i lived in Australia and I had sun block on. Sun is dangerous down under. Used Natural yogurt and also aloe vera after to sooth the skin.

Well its been 5 days .I'm starting to peel more and I'm still very pinkish where the burns were .I'm not hurting as much. After I apply the aloe Vera gel I only hurt for maybe a minute . I used noxema and cold water on the burns earlier and it made me peel more .I'm trying my best not to peel the skin with my fingers . thanks for sharing your stories everyone .if u have anymore please share .thank GOD this isn't permanent

It depends where and when. In Florida for instance, 2 hours can do plenty of damage.

Are you down south? I once had that happen in the Bahamas but it was on my back. Another time in Hawaii and it was my back. It's the worst. Hang in there.

Good.

Glad that it is getting better. Be careful with fiddling with your fingers. You don't want to get some infection on top of the burn.
