Here we go again with idiot parents.

Was watching the news and saw a report where a child was attacked by an alligator. The child was wading in a foot of water where the alligators swim/live. The child has yet to be found. All of the gators were destroyed in attempts to find any remains of the child, but they were unsuccesful. I cannot imagine the horror of seeing your child mauled and dragged under water. The parents tried to intervene, but failed to rescue the boy.

I'm sorry, but this just makes me angry. Parents are too lackadaisical these days with the care of their children, especially in public places and parks, zoos, wherever. I see it all the time. Parents just let their kids run amok and then are bewildered when something tragic happens. WHEN WILL THEY LEARN? sigh

Horrific .. how could the parents be so STUPID .. Hey lets go down to the water where gators are woohoo itll be fun .. Jail em for life. And im sorry whats the damn point of having alligators .. theyre not pets or loveable lil wee buggers u cuddle up to .. theyre a living cousin of the dinosaurs n theyll kill you in a heartbeat. Kill em all n feed the hungry n make nice shoes n what have you. I hate gators, theyre ugly menacing looking lethal fierce fuckers n that poor lil boy omg i wanna cry n hurl at the thought ..

Normally, I try not to be so judgemental with parents, but in this case, all of this is clearly their fault. I read that there were clearly signs saying "no swimming" by the lake...yet the father had his 2 year old in the water anyway? There's no excuse whatsoever. disbelief

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It is as if that was done on purpose. Often people like to be "copy cats", they will repeat what they see in the media.

Gators are all over the state of Florida since their natural habit has been sucked dry and taken away. They can be found in canals, lakes, ponds...and swimming pools. Anyone who doesn't watch out for alligators there need their heads examined.

That is like my main reason not to go to Florida, also I think they have Anacondas there???

I heard reports of some but I never saw any when I lived there. On the other hand, I saw plenty of alligators. There was one old timer that had lived in a pond next to the downtown library for years but he never bothered anybody and no one bothered him. Locals knew not to let their little kids go over there.

I know!!! That's the part that is so mind boggling. What were the parents' responses to that???? I don't get it. Following directions isn't that hard.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Don't really agree with that analogy. Humans have free will. That's like blaming rape victims or blaming a black guy getting killed in a white neighborhood.

What are we doing here in the first place .. fucking really stupid

You don't put a resort in alligator swamp country. Pathetically stupid .. no swimming signs. Know why ?? Because your sorry-ass could get eaten by the cousin of a dinosaur

Many people don't practice due diligence when on vacation... they let their guard down. Those lagoons within Walt Disney park to have man made beaches... with the beach chairs, food/drink concessions, umbrellas. Hindsight being 20/20, maybe it wasn't wise to have a relax setting in and around water. Disney sits on thousands of acre, if my memory doesn't fail me... Disney Inc Orlando's land encompasses natural ponds, marshes and lakes. No Swimming, along with sign stating alligators are possible present should have been posted.

Tragic mistake... those poor parents have to live with the heartbreak that their son was killed by an alligator.

As far as equating driving in a unsafe part of town and being killed... good grief. confused In most metropolitan place in the US, the have and the have nots are usually separated by blocks or an avenue; its easy to get lost/turn around... ridiculous statement.

I understand what you are saying, we all need to have common sense and that goes BOTH WAYS!!!! Just because some people got lost drivng around doesn't mean gang member have the right to kill people. Dam shit what if there are road closers and forces drivers to go to bad areas of town (and that has happen where I lived) . What is it their fault now???? I agree with you 100% abgout the gator situation, why??? Because gators are animals and go on instict and we as humans need to be aware of that.

Here is a stupid human situation that happen here. About 15 years ago a 20 something year old man came to Hawaii from the US mainland for a vacation. He went to a beach where there were high waves. There were fences and signs every where, he jumped over the fences, passed all the signs, just to take some pictures. Guess what happened next, yup waves knocked him over and he drowned. His parents went on and on how unsafe Hawaii is. Hawaii leaders were big pussy and paid the parents just please the tourist industry, dam that money should have gone to our schools. Why do the parents need money, Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Hanauma Bay once .. some people mentioned not to go out to the edge, its shaped like a horseshoe and the far openings can be dangerous .. What did i do .. went there .. I was taking in the scenery when the skys grew dark literally within a few minutes, like frikin night n day .. I was looking out towards the ocean when I saw what I knew was a set rolling in far out .. and it wasnt just a set, it was monstrous .. I said holy fuck when this hits the cliff im a dead man .. I split as fast as i could without shoes on slippery rocks cause it was coming fast ... im not making this up ... this thing hit the cliff edge and it was like a bomb went off or a severe earthquake, it knocked me off my feet then the water came like it was being shot out of a cannon or a firemans hose it was bad very bad. When I woke up I was nowhere close to where I was standing and it was pure luck I didnt get swept over .. the edge of the inner cliffs were 20 ft away .. so ya .. Im an idiot .. broke two toes had to go deal with that and It was a long walk back to the car. And it was hot as fuck .. My nose was bleeding my head was rocked i wasnt exactly as concious as I should have been, I passed these kids, they were cliff diving into this hole, it was surreal, they just looked at me n laughed .. Then some huge hawaiin kid came over n held me up n walked me back to the car, said I was lucky to be alive .. Few days later I went to sandy beach n got my bell rung from those insane shore break death waves .. crazy fun .. oh n got a hell of a sunburn ..

I also hear from people from the mainland say how can anyone get lost while hiking in the mountains of Hawaii, it's just Hawaii. Well they do, they go off the trail, slide down and fall off a 100 feet cliff then die in some heavy bushes. Well I'm glad you are ok. I think in this day of "Selfies" people don't realize how dangerous things are. Kinda like how cameramen ends up getting killed in war zones.

There was a huge rush of water goiung out and I saw a coral thing .. it looked like a huge ball biggest thing ide ever seen then the water rushed back in and all of a sudden this elderly lady in goggles n fins climbed out of the water and up on the rocks like no big deal .. weird day that was totally.

Last week in NY state a family was in a national park there and decided to go into a restricted area.
Well they stepped on the reason(s) it was restricted and the earth crumbled under their feet. Of course the older people survived by the 2 young boys -1 found dead 1 not found yet.

I've seen this frequently on coastal cliff areas where there are warning signs and fences. People jump the fences all the time and go out on crumbling bluffs just for a photo op or to say that they did it. SMH

While some on the Org have decided it's the parents fault, out in the real world it's a bit more complicated.
