What is your favorite breed of dog?

I think I will go with the wonderful Basenji.

I had a dog once named Hercules. He was German Shepherd among other things. He was a god damn Heinz dog! 57 varieties!

My favorite dog is a Yorkshire Terrier.

kerry blue terrier

unfortunately, jenny, my kerry blue died secondary to complications of cancer about 3 weeks ago. i miss her terribly. she was the greatest. she ran with me everyday, and was the best companion ever.

if i knew how to post photos, i'd post a photo of a kerry blue, because most folks don't know what they look like.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback's ancestry includes a dog native to Southern Africa -- a tribal dog, a companion and a hunter, with a ridge of hair growing backwards down its back. European settlers brought with them their hunting dogs, they, in turn, intermingled with the native ridged dogs. The ridge factor is fairly dominant and many a big game hunter discovered these "ridged dogs" had exceptional hunting ability and temperament. The hunters began to select specifically for the ridge and thus, the breed was born.

my sister used 2 have a blue dobie puppy--his name was joy, and it wuz so frickin cute!!! durin the winter, my sister would keep it down in the basement...i'd come downstairs 2 give it food or play with him, and he'd hop up all over me. his ears and tail weren't docked yet, so whenever he'd shake its head his ears would flop about and it wuz so funny!! also, he'd like 2 put his head between my calves and rub his cold lil' ears against 'em (odd, i know ). joy ran away and got caught by the dog pound a couple summers ago.

i miss 'im, he wuz a sweetie.

along with the blue doberman, my sis owned a couple of rottweilers (she lives in a high-crime neighborhood, so this is why)...the very first one she bought wuz a puppy that she named sapphire. sapphire wuz like the best phuckin puppy in the history of puppydom: she wuz a typical rott, stubborn, active, loved 2 play-bite the hell outta u (i hated that, that shit hurts! )plus, she'd bully joy (the blue dobie puppy) and beat his ass on a constant basis ...that, and my sis would put her out in the backyard and she'd stand on the back porch, barkin her ass off as if there were an intruder there. she wuz one bad-assed bitch.

unfortunately, she died of parvovirus about a month after we got her...

2nd rott my sister had wuz one her boyfriend bought...it wuz a full grown one and he named him limit (after no limit records...kinna dumb ). limit wuz big and goofy as hell--that, and he had the tendency 2 jump up on u when he got excited. unfortunately 4 him, somebody came along and stole him outta the backyard (there's an alley right in the back of my sister's house, and folks go thru there all the time--which is why my sis got dogs in the first place, 2 keep folks away from the house)...
