Stereotypes - there must be more to life. .
...as the Blur song went. Don't stereotypes just SUCK? Sometimes it seems like everybody loves to cash in and just generally buy into them. We live in a world based on the ideas we see on TV...the understood notions of "this is this" and "that is that". eg...The stereotypical American The stereotypical Aussie The stereotypical Brit We are all INDIVIDUALS, but it just seems like in the real life and on the internet, some people can't live without their little boxes to put people in. And then there are those who love to be put into those boxes. It also seems like stupidity comes in packs and creates cliques based on stereotypical personas. Am I the only one on the org who feels this way? Of course this isn't the first time I've thought about this in my life...I just decided to make a thread about it now for the hell of it. Perhaps you guys have a particular stereotype or "clique" peeve to share. Let you true self reign supreme, I say. Love yourself and those who matter. Fuck the group/mob mentality. _________________________________________________

*I'm in high school, and everyone is stereotypical. Sometimes it's just sick, but it's something everyone does sometime in their life..hopefully they'll grow out of it. For me, I stopped seeing people as "nerds", "goths", "gangsters" what ever the hell people say..in 7th grade, and I'm glad. So, yeah I really hate stereotypes, you're not the only one on the Org..Actually, I'm suprised more people havn't posted here...Anywhoo, peace.* -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

'Stereotypes - there must be more to life.'
I believe alot of that is called "projection"-...people have issues and dont express them properly. . . [This message was edited Fri Mar 28 15:18:47 PST 2003 by Christopher] | |
