I love games... I've been gaming since I first discovered the Atari VCS and I'm still gaming to this day. Also I work as a games programmer / designer person.

In the last 3 weeks, I've bought and played:

  • DOAX Beach Volleyball on Xbox
  • Auto Modellista on PS2
  • ZOE on PS2
  • Haven on PS2
  • Zettai Zetsumei Toshi on PS2
  • Dead To Rights
  • Ghost Recon on Xbox (live)
  • New GBA SP with a copy of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Metroid Prime for GameCube
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on PS2

I've also bought C&C Generals but I haven't got around to playing it yet (not in the mood, with all the war and stuff going on).

Good taste sir! Although I'm more of a Blizzard fan than a Westwood fan. Have you played Tenchu Wrath of Heaven, it's brilliant.

And Super Mario Kart is the definitive Mario Kart game... although Mario Kart Advance was pretty nice. The 64 version was stinking though.

Hey since you like the GTA series... some of my workmates worked on GTA 1 and 2, and my mate Colin did the music.

I've nearly completed Wrath of Heaven! I finished it with Ayame first and I'm nearly done with Rikimaru.

I completely forgot to list Warcraft 2 on my list. I have played 3 and think it's great, but I don't own it so I can't go and stick it up there just yet smile I noticed that you had Starcraft on your list Ian... top game! nod

And as for your workmates working on the first two GTA games... worship Instant classics! I still remember getting the demo disc for GTA one before it was released and I couldn't stop playing it. The whole retro look and playing as the bad guy and killing those Hare Krishnas at the beginning... genious!!

If so... I am still in the Donkey Kong, Frogger, Centipede, Galaga... era. I try playing PS2 with my nephews, they are good teachers, although those new hand gears are so technical, what ever happened to the good o'l joysticks. wink smile

You're right, control pads are far too complicated nowadays! Particulary the bloody Xbox controller, it is huge, and heavy, and has far too many buttons on it. My wife can't even pick it up!

I loved Galaga too... though I preferred Thrust which was kinda based on Galaga.

Ha ha ... "controller pads" Teller, not joysticks smile The small analog sticks on em are usually called "thumb-sticks" smile

Check out the GameCube controller... it is a work of art, absolutely the nicest controller I've ever seen.

I hold on to the old fashion approach, lol I have realized lately I use "old fashion" a lot lately, does that mean I am. (((laughing)))

Tell your wife to watch "the back" when attempting to lift such a device, maybe a dolly would help. wink heart

Outcast was superb! Really nice voxel engine, and lots of decent dialogue. A real "epic" quality to it, and very French. I went back to it recently actually, now that I have a PC that can do it justice smile

And I'm with you regarding SM64, Zelda OOT, Sonic etc... they are all fab. I thought Rogue Leader sucked donkey balls though.

Metroid Prime is great. I've just got the heat visor smile

Super Monkey Ball series are just too hard for me. They piss me off coz there is so much of the game I never get too see, coz the difficulty ramps up too quickly.

Panzer Dragoon looks very pretty... I'll have to pick that up soon.

Ape Escape 2 is on my list, I'll grab that very soon coz it looks fab and I love the original smile

You only just bought Samba De Amigo though? Did you get the official Sega maracas? So expensive on eBay nowadays...

Yep I just got Samba from ebay,I missed out on it first time around. Didnt pay too much for it either yay!

Ape Escape is good fun

Super Monkey Ball 2 lulls you into a false sense of security , the first few levels are too easy but then before you know it , it gets impossibly difficult lol

Much love yes Pochacco

Ah but did you get the official Sega maracas, or are they third party maracas? The original Sega ones are quite expensive to find now...
