It's a far cry from the "I'm Black & I'm Proud" days of my childhood. Sad and pathetic what many women of color do to themselves to look more "acceptable" to the mainstream. Racism is a mfer.

It's possible. I don't think it's as simple is just going out and buying bleach and pouring it on yourself, I think there's probably a certain way you have to apply it, but bleaching is a real thing. There's people who's complexion will become lighter and they get accused of bleaching. But then there are people who bleach just flat out and it's so obvious they did. Perfect example is Sammy Sosa. And I don't think it's fair to call her a disgrace. You can't call someone a disgrace for feeling self conscious and for having her own issues with herself as an individual. What she does reflects nobody but herself and if you feel disgraced by that's pretty weak and you should probably focus on yourself and not others.

^No, it is definitely fair to be angry at Kim. As others have pointed out, it sends an ugly message to black girls, many of them are her fans.
