I always wonder if someone who does that to themselves does ever get to a point of feeling more satisfied, such that they like their look and want to stop, or if it's just an underlying psychological issue that gets sated for a bit, then flares back up? Freud said that the more an individual obeys the demands of the superego (i.e. the internal 'critic' that can be merciless in telling you what you 'should' be doing), the stronger those demands become. It always seems that that's what happens in cases like this, but maybe that's just a stereotype.

I didn't say she wasn't pretty either, I just hate seeing her villainized for this, when everyone on Earth is being oppressed by the "standards" of beauty. Cut her some slack! I know she looks different from 1996, but there's even extra pressure on her as a public figure.

Creatively, I see that she can look very different just based on her make-up.

She's white-ish. I know you weren't villainizing her for this. It's just disappointing, especailly when the idea of being yourself has never been stronger (yet your aforementioned industry standards fight back just as hard), that someone grown & has had a decent life experience thus far would do all this to herself.
