I agree with Sergio Leone but Steven Spielberg, BAH! I think Spielberg tends to be overlooked as a filmmaker because of how big and famous he is. But I think he's one of the best directors ever. Jaws could so easily have been a Piranha type trashy movie but he made it work. ET is a classic, even though it scares me a bit. Close Encounters, Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindlers List etc. They're all classic movies. My top 5 directors 1: Martin Scorsese 2: Sergio Leone 3: Stanley Kubrick 4: Alfred Hitchcock 5: Steven Spielberg A few honorable mentions for Ridley Scott, Clint Eastwood, John Woo, Paul Verhoeven, Quentin Tarantino, Woody Allen, Mel Gibson, Francis Ford Coppola, James Cameron and Jackie Chan (that's right, Jackie Chan) | |
