I snagged a couple of Prince related items, but also had a funny story.

So I'm visiting my local record store. I browsing through, and have already found a couple of things. Suddenly one of the employees walks up to me. I'd talked to him before. He's as tall as me, red beard, kind, and we always talk about Madonna for some reason. Today, I see him coming at me out of the corner of my eye. He starts talking before I even turn my head. "So we had this in the back. We've not brought it out yet, but I thought you might be interested in it." It's Madonna's Sex book. I'm sure he didn't know I had been looking for it. He said because of some problems with the spine (they were minor, really) that they'd take $30 for it. I was just waylayed by the whole thing. I started laughing, and told him a funny story.

When I was in college, I was the only guy in one of my classes (for a while). I was 23, and still pretty green about stuff. One of the students, who was in her mid-40s, came in and plopped the book on the table. I'm surrounded by girls, and we're all looking at this book with nude pics, and stories about Madonna's pu$$y. A LOT of T&A. She had bought the book new, and casually said "it's just a coffee table book". "A COFFEE TABLE BOOK?!" I thought to myself. I told the guy, "I had to get out of there!" He laughed. I told him I'd think about the book.

I decided against it, because I really didn't have the extra cash for it until next week. But he did offer to put it on hold for me for a week or so. Once I get paid this weekend, I'll probably go back and get it. It's the best deal I'm going to find on one.

My record store knows me. All too well.

By the way, I picked up a Vanity 12" for "Pretty Mess" (with a large lable like "I Would Die 4 U" had), a 12" for Information Society's "Walking Away", and a Prince import for "Cream" (with "Horny Pony", and "Gangsta Glam") on CD.

Did anyone else pick up anything good today?

Stick to the album, some things are better left to the imagination. Trust when I say you'll be happy with that extra $40 in your account few days later
