You'll never hear me say LeBron James is on Jordan's level, but he is one of the greatest ever - top 15 in my book. Shit, he plays better defense than Magic or Larry ever did.
Wilt, Jordan, Russell, Kareem, Oscar, Magic, Larry, LeBron, West, Duncan, Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Dr. J, Isiah/Havlicek (tie)
ducc - excellent post, and it's stone cold truth. FYI, I'd move Kyrie to the 2, and get a legit 1 to take some of the load off James.
For all you hardcore fans, the NBA channel is re-broadcasting one of the greatest playoff games in NBA history - Game 5 of the 1976 Finals, Celtics/Suns. I remember staying up late to watch that - it was a Friday night, so I didn't have to worry about school. [Edited 6/5/16 12:56pm]

I think that's called having a balanced view. I may have used the term "stan" maybe once in my whole life. It's misused and overused all the time. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I just saw Jerry West's press conference - he defended LeBron and had the perfect answer to all these knuckle-heads. Great job, Mr. Clutch.
Wilt got a lot of this bullshit too, Dr. J, even Jordan - whatever they do, it's never enough for some.

Lebron gets a way with ALOT of violations. He even bullies the refs and nobody says nothing about it. No technical, No foul, nothing. He literally runs the NBA. Then he makes tantrums when he doesn't get his way. I am glad I don't drink the koolaid though.

The man trashes his own team and you say cut him some slack? He doesn't have a team player mentality which is why he will never win anymore championships. He doesn't want to win for his team. He wants to win for himself and that shows out on the court and that among other things distinguishes him from MJ.

Do yourself a favor, watch a single game from a rule book perspective, and see hw many violations a gme Lebron gets away with, that are calls against other players. All I'm saying is, just make the same calls for everyone. Are u telling me Lebron doesn't get special treatment to the extreme? [Edited 6/5/16 14:08pm] Of course he gets a few superstar breaks but not every single game as you suggest or multiple times per game as you suggest. Bird as a coach of the Indiana Pacers complained that Jordan got all the calls. Jordan fired back that Bird got all the calls in his heyday which was true. Magic got the superstar treatment. Barkley would state that MJ would foul the hell out you without practically getting called for it. Kobe got it. Hell Shaq used to truck over people when he first came in the league. LeBron gets beat up in the lane like Shaq did and never gets calls. The only difference is LeBron is smart enough to not retaliate. Shaq used to push back or smack a mutha crossed the head when there wasn't a severe penalty. Magic used to commit fouls and cry and whine as though he never committed a foul. and he was my favorite player to watch behind Julius Erving and Andrew Toney. I just find it funny you being the ultimate MJ fan complain about another NBA superstar getting preferential treatment when MJ wrote the ultimate book on it. Don't laugh at my funk

Miami was not suppose to win that game 6 in 2013. I am not even sure if its even worth having this conversation with you because you drink NBA koolaid. There was a bunch of shady calls and fouls being made in the last 5 seconds of that game. How the hell are you going to lose when you up by 5 points in less that 5 seconds and then the calls were bullshit. The Spurs were up by 20 the entire game and were still up by 5 points the last 5 seconds until NBA rigged and push for game 7. We honestly going to sit here and insist Miami deserve to win that game?
In 2012, Thunder had swept Spurs and had played much much much harder teams. You honestly going to sit here argue that Miami was a better team than a hot and booming Thunder in 2012 who played much harder teams? C'mon now Lebron is overrated NBA is rigged and shady Thats my opinion

LOL!!!!!
C'mon
Now this is not true at all. He is also a flopper. He gets away with things more often than he should.

I did......but that doesn't mean I have to delusionally insist he is in Michael Jordan's category of talent, that doesn't mean that he doesnt get away with violations and fouls and that doesn't mean that some of his behavior is not questionable. Also, there is such a thing as stans in the NBA world. Anybody can be an overzealous fan who can not maturely be objective when it comes to their favorite idol, your argument is rather absurd that the NBA doesn't have "stans".

Another flawed argument which further proves you don't know what the hell you're talking about when it comes to the NBA. The Thunder did not sweep the Spurs in the 2012 playoffs. That series actually went to six games. Another flawed theory is to suggest the Thunder played harder competition in the playoffs that year. It was a strike shortened season due to the lockout. The Spurs were the only team to win 50 games in the west that year whereas the Thunder won 47. The Lakers and Grizzlies only went 41-25 and the Clippers won 40. In the East Chicago was the only team to win 50 that year but got upset in the first round by my Sixers who benefitted from the Derrick Rose injury in the first game. Otherwise they would have been another tough out from the Miami Heat. Indiana won 42 games that year and Boston with the big 3 (Pierce, Rondo, Garnett) still on board and playoff tested won 39. The Pacers and Boston were more playoff tested than any team in the West that year but the Spurs and maybe the Lakers further disproving your flawed logic.
I should not even address the nonsense of the first part of your argument but I'll hit it and quit it. How do you lose that game 6. Ask Tim Duncan who admitted he cost his team that game. Also I don't think the NBA could possibly in your wildest dreams rig an incredible 3 point shot by Ray Allen to tie the game. I don't think the Spurs defense just slacked off and said okay Miami you're suppose to win this game like the commissioner said. So you feel the NBA is rigged. I got news for you Sherlock. People were making those claims when the MJ and the Bulls were winning. Maybe you should just stick to the music forums because like Uptown stated you jus can't come up with legitimate facts to back up your strawman logic.
Also the Thunder - Heat finals was worse than I thought. The Heat destroyed their ass in 5 games as supposed to 6 like I originally thought and LeBron owned Kevin Durant that series further disproving your conspiracy theory. The Thunder won one more regular season game than the Heat in a strike shortened season. Don't know how you come up with the nonsense that the Thunder were the superior team. My work is done here. But I never called you a Lebron stan
I am not getting hysterical about anything but I can see you obviously are. I am perfectly fine and have been respectful. You don't have to lecture me about calling you a stan. I have not once called you a Lebron stan in this discussion so I find it odd that you are claiming that I have.
You implied that bringing up Lebron stans and how they behave was an immature and pointless argument, this is in reference to your number 4 question. [Edited 6/5/16 18:35pm]

Thats not hating, thats someone who is intelligent with a functional brain that can weed through bullshit. Like the NBA hyping Lebron like he is Jordan when he is no where in his category but of course LeJane stans think that crazy. Nobody said the man was not talented, just that he wasn't all of that and he is not."

I am not sitting here claiming to be an NBA expert or defensively making indirect jabs and name calls at people just because they don't kiss Lebron James ass like you. Thanks for the correction! So the Thunder didn't sweep the Spurs that year, big deal? it still doesn't change the fact that they play and played much harder teams in the West than Miami did that year. I stand by that game 6 being shady as hell. Even before Tim Duncan was taken out that game, shady calls and fouls were made. I stand by the fact that Lebron and company barely won that championship that was not deserved and unfornately the better team did not win. Thats not changing, thats my opinion. You are always defensivel when it comes to Lebron James in these discussions. I find it funny actually! LOL Its sad that you can't be objective or be maturely constructive when it comes to him specifically. No one here has bashed him not even Gray, just said some things he has done is questionable, he gets away with stuff and he is overrated when NBA tries to compared him to MJ which are legitmate arguments that most would agree.

How can I backpedal when I never called you a Lebron stan?
I am waiting for you to quote where I called you a Lebron stan
Referring to how Lebron stans act in no way means I was referring to you. I never ever called you a stan at all.
Saying Lebron is "ya boy" in no way means I am calling you a Lebron stan.
This has been a very interesting and entertaining discussion nonetheless LOL
