Sleepy Hollow

Aw man sounds like Abbie is not coming back. Nicole Beharies is one of my favorite Sci-Fi babes of all time. Sleepy Hollow should just end already if Abbie is not coming back

Nicole Beharie Exits Sleepy Hollow: 'Abbie's Done All She's Meant to Do'

The following story contains spoilers related to Friday’s Sleepy Hollow season finale. Proceed at your own peril.

Sleepy Hollow is not horsing around this time: Nicole Beharie has departed Sleepy Hollow following Abbie Mills’ very real death in Friday’s Season 3 finale.

In an exclusive statement to TVLine, Beharie says, “Sleepy Hollow has been an incredible experience in every way. I loved playing Abbie. It’s been such a gift to have taken this wild ride… Alas, ‘Abbie Mills has done all she was meant to do.’ I’m excited about what the show has in store for us next. I’m rooting for my co-stars and crew… they have been my inspiration, my teachers, family, my friends, over the last few seasons. I want to thank the fantastic producers, writers, and directors who have worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. I want to thank Fox for their faith and support. But, most of all, [I want to thank the] Sleepyheads for all of your love – what an honor. I will never be the same. Stay tuned.”

Fox, 20th Century Fox and the producers of Sleepy Hollow issued a statement of their own, calling “the tragic death of Abbie Mills” a “bold move” for the series. “We feel we provided a wonderfully poignant conclusion for Abbie and showed some of the best moments between the Witnesses that we’ve seen on-screen. We thank Nicole Beharie for bringing Abbie and Sleepy Hollow to life. We are currently discussing Season 4, and should the series be picked up for another season, we have some exciting scenarios and new avenues we want to explore.”

Last November, Sleepy Hollow appeared to do away with Abbie in the fall finale, but Beharie’s witness turned up at the end of the midseason premiere alive and well. In an exclusive post mortem with Kim Roots, showrunner Clifton Campbe...s dead,” adding, “We’ve had a terrific run with her. She’s been an absolute delight. She helped build out the mythology of the show, and we’ve had a tremendous run with her.”

That said, while “the character is gone,” Campbell hints that Beharie could make the occasional appearance in a potential Season 4 in some other form. “In Sleepy Hollow it’s always surprising to see how the reflections of one character or another can influence the show moving forward,” he teases.

Lastly, in case you’re wondering, yes, Abbie’s final exit was ...blind item.

well, look at the bright side. no dangling around all summer o find out whether or not she's alive. no wondering who gets it after all that waiting, just boom! done. season finale, she died and there it is. no neganing around, the show runners got right to the point there for you. smile

.

ps: i hope the show doesn't suck after she leaves. hopefully you'll still like it. i'm watching 'Luther' Season 4; they killed alice morgan off and without her character the show lacks that certain je ne suis thingie. i really wish alice had continued to be Luther's counterpoint a while longer.

Meh...I watched the finale and yeah, the show is pretty much done. Nicole and Tom (Abbie & Crane) had great chemistry together. With Abbie gone, they can put any kind of spin that they want on it but it won't be a strong show. Besides, moving the show to Friday nights was the beginning of the end anyway. I hope Nicole has a lot of future projects lined up, she's a really good actress.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I love this show. Was shocked about Abbie's demise. I have read that they wrote her out of the show as she wants to leave and has other plans.

Is it the end of the show?? Could be. Now the network that carries it has to decide if they will pick it up for another season...........

Now we are left with Tom, Abbie's sister and father..............

She is gone.

I think I am done with the show sad

I'm guessing this show is toast anyway. dead It appeared at the end of last season when Ichabod Crane killed his wife Sabrina after she turned evil that they were wrapping up any plotlines as a potential series finale since the ratings had dropped significantly. I was surprised whern FOX renewed this show, but then they scheduled it against Thursday Night Football, Scandal, and The Blacklist, which was a sign that FOX had little faith in the show lasting any further. The ratings dropped even more after that, and the death knell came when they moved the show to Friday nights, Granted, all of the networks have low expectations for Friday night, but it was pulling fractional ratings (under 1.0) for new episodes even then. As bad as FOX may be right now, with Empire being their only show to average over a 2.0 rating and American Idol ending, even they can't keep a show this lowly rated and relatively expensive on the air. The're better off running whatever Gordon Ramsay show they have and/or reruns.

I think the show declined in season 3 because the writers kept separating Mills and Crane (Which they are the Mulder and Scully of Sleepy Hollow). Then Abbie's sister Jenny got a bigger part. I didn't really cared about showing her and Joe (the Doggit and Reyes of the show) going out and investigating. Then they add another 20 something year old female to the cast, Agent Foster (hello you got Abbie). I also had a problem with Abbie's new FBI boss (and obvious love interest). They both went to the Academy together and yet some how he becomes the head of their field office??? I did like the addition of Betsy Ross, like the mixing of history into the show.

True, but one major mistake they did last season was hinting that Crane was secretly in love with Abbie, then abandoning the idea this current season with adding in the new FBI boss/love interest. The way it was done was sloppy. It's like "oh here's an idea, lets do it. Oh wait, shucks did we film that and air it? We don't think it's a good idea anymore". confused So b/c the couldn't completely abandon the idea on air, they just continued with the excruciating emotional tug of war with Crane. It actually looked quite silly...a grown ass man from 240 years ago vying for the feelings of his beautiful partner and roommate that he could've easily rectified in one episode. They should've just kept their relationship platonic.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
