LONG BEFORE BATMAN HIT TV

in that other thread someone said batman was cool for when it came out...

i was like "what???" but then had to remember that i was entertained by

way different shit when i was comin up... i had, like any other children, cartoons.

but my main things were shows like dr. kildare.

so i tried to come up with the shows i thought were cool since i started payin attention to tv...

they may not be in chronological order and there are many more that i will add as they come to memory....

the untouchables

the highway patrol

perry mason

i spy

the twilight zone

but no other show could touch

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

we had the game, the toys

yeah, so i may have been a bit jaded by time batman came out...

i am KING BAD!!!

Oh!!!

and my comedy sense

is rooted in MAD MAGAZINE

the genesis of my humor is my fam

but MAD even stepped that up...

and THE CECIL and BEANIE SHOW

dishonest john... the greatest feind of all time

Just thought I would mention this, that on the 23rd TCM is going to a special on old old old batman and superman stuff. Serials from the 1930's to the 1950's.

Should be very interesting.

all their humor was 'offbeat'

and what made it better was

knowin that other people seen

'funny' like we did in our fam...

from the time we started watchin tv

the conversation would be

"that woulda been funnier IF..."

and Mad would actually come close to

doin exactly that

lol lol lol lol lol

now that i igve it the old "Politically Correct" once-over, it's obvious spy vs. spy shouldn't be all black and white. grey vs grey, or something. i would probly have felt differently about it if i'd been a black child growing up confused

.

when i was little we weren't allowed to watch TV. there wasn't even one in the house so my TV watching had to be done at my friends' houses. i loved bullwinkle and star trek cause they were on on friday nights when we went to gramma's house.

I've always enjoyed some of the old serials. My favorite being Adventures of Captain Marvel on 1941. Pretty good for its time. Captain was shooting the bad guys with machine guns and tossing guys off roof tops.
