1977 Silver Ford Granada. It was a tank, but I have fond memories of the car.

Hmmm a 1987 Ford Escort, it was clean dark gray with matching interior. It was a cool little car especially seeing as I am good with hooking cars up. fro

Only kept it about 6 months then I got a truck, even cooler. mr.green

1981 Fiat Spider 2000 convertible. It was a beautiful Italian roadster, with a body designed by Pininfarina. I essentially inherited it from my grandfather in 1994 when I turned 16.

In many ways it was similar to the Mazda Miata I drive now, except that:

  • The Miata is much more reliable (there's a good reason why people say Fiat stands for "Fix it Again, Tony").
  • The Miata is better-equipped... the Fiat didn't even have power steering. By contrast, the Miata has things like keyless entry, power windows, Bose audio (with XM Satellite Radio that I added), cruise control, and air conditioning.
  • The Fiat had something of a back seat... while the owner's manual called it a "package shelf" (probably due to the lack of seat belts), it was shaped like a back seat and even had floor mats. There wasn't much room back there, though! (The Miata has no back seat whatsoever.)
  • The Fiat had some quirky features, like an analog clock as one of the gauges (maybe the most accurate timepiece I've ever owned) and an actual metal bell that would ring if you opened the door with the keys in the ignition.

When I bought my Miata last year, it felt as if I'd gotten my Fiat back, only restored, modernized (without losing the classic roadster feel), better-equipped, and improved.

black '87 Chevy Celebrity

My parents bought it brand new in 1986, then passed it over to me in '94. I loved it cause I could fit 5 snowboards in the trunk. I always got to drive to the hills.

Brand new rental car payed for by the company.
They dropped it of at work, about 50 miles from home, so they made it tough for me the very first time alone in a car.
I received it the day after I got my drivers-license.

The next day, with a 2 day old license, I drove about 150 miles from my home to my girlfriend.
