American TV and web culture

I'm reading this book right now called "Against the machine" by Lee Siegel - I HIGHLY recommend that everyone here read it. In it he critiques mainly internet, but also TV, and pop culture in general, and has a lot to say about, amongst other things, American Idol - and his viewpoint matches mine to a great extent about the whole thing.

It's somewhat dated, the book is from 2008, but it's still EXTREMELY relevant today. I'd love to discuss it with everyone here after you've read it, considering we discuss so much pop culture here.... so buy yourself a copy NOW. (It's quite a tiny book, so won't take much time to read). See ya here after that!

.

just kdding, doaminator! i've never flooded anything with fake reviews in my life! but some writer guy told me years ago that many writers give their own books five star ratings hundreds of times.

.

i checked over at amazon.com and sure enough there were plenty of fake reviews! Gina Mangina was the funniest fake reviewer name i ever saw for a book but funny or not i wonder if amazon removed it anyway.

.

these days, by consumer request, amazon is cracking down on fake reviews by ISP address so anyone trying to cheat that way will be clocked. that's what i heard, anyway
