the fashion of torn jeans ? i know that fashion is a matter of personal choice, but one style i can't really understand is the craze for wearing jeans that are completely ripped and torn at the knees, this style has been around for years even before punk so its not exactly new,i just can't get my head around why someone would actually pay a ridiculous amount of money for an item of clothing that is ripped to shreds.

I couldn't understand it years ago...and don't get it now. If you want ripped jeans you can just wait until the pair you have wears out or do it yourself. It made no sense then and doesn't now. My daughter spent GOOD money at American Eagle (using her Christmas money) to buy ripped jeans that I refused to buy her myself. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I love my ripped jeans.
It's ridiculous and I didn't pay much for it, but I do love them.
Got them 2nd hand, so I got an excuse?!?! 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I've never gotten the whole torn jeans thing either. I know the thinking behind it, how it's supposed to be a turn-on to see bare skin, but it doesn't do anything for me. Another fashion trend I need to shave for? No, thanks. Nope. I was kind of hoping facial coverings similar to the niqab would become mainstream for similar reasons until the whole scary-brown-people phobia ruined the chance of that ever becoming a reality. I guess I'm still stuck waxing and plucking my face since I live in Red State where wearing facial coverings could likely make me a target of violence and where women are expected not to have beards and mustaches, but I can still at least eschew other fashion choices where I am expected to shave for the sake of society's approval. Fuck you, torn jeans. And dresses. See you in the Spring. Murica: at least it's not Sudan.

While I do get the fashion of torn jeans, I completely do NOT get paying for them. Torn jeans are comfortable IMO. I have a pair that are torn but that's from wear and tear. Wearing them in the Spring/Summer provides a nice airy feeling through your legs...especially if you don't want to wear shorts and they don't feel so hot like regular jeans. That's why I wear them...but paying $30 or more on ripped jeans? Hell no. [Edited 2/29/16 16:19pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I only have a few second-hand clothes, maybe five, and they were given to me by people that I like a t-shirt from an old friend, a coat from someone who gave me the coat before he passed away, and a t-shirt I traded with someone, and maybe one or two second-hand t-shirts from the thrift store....other than that, I feel a bit uncomfortable wearing things that other people used to wear, and very often second-hand clothes are shaped by their previous owners, and it takes a long time to change that shape again. - I used to know this very smart doctor who seriously believed in something he called an aura. He believed that second-hand clothes still carry the aura of the previous owner and that that could sometimes lead to problems. I don´t know what to think of that. I was surprised to hear a man of science talk about people´s aura attaching to clothes. But who knows, maybe he knows something that I don´t. He got his education in the USSR, by the way. I love secondhand shops. Sometimes you see stuff in there you may never see again (or want to), "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I should probably go ahead and buy pre worn clothing that already has the coffee stains and tears just to get it over with. Bloodstains and punctures would just be gravy. Murica: at least it's not Sudan.
