An old topic, but how are y'all in the shower for showeries. Do you use cheap stuff or medium priced or only the best. I ask mainly as we have a heatwave here in New Zealand and I have been having a whole bunch of showers lately.

I ran out of shampoo and went to a $2 shop and saw this stuff called Suave imported from the USA and the shit looked nasty like, red plastic and some stuff called Ocean Breeze. Do you guys use this, is it a cheap shampoo. I nearly bought it, but spent some $4 on a Pantene shampoo and $5 on a conditioner. I don't use 2 in 1 as it makes my hair dry and scaly.

I use medium price stuff, Palmolive or Pantene hair products and VO5 if I am feeling rich.

I use imperial leather shower gel or Lynx Africa If I am poor.

Soaps are always Cussons, Lux or Imperial leather.

suave is pretty inexpensive in the USA, right at the lowest end of the price range.

my favorite are l'occitane products. a bit spendy, but imo worth it.

Suave is definitely the cheap stuff here. Can usually find it for $1 on sale.

Pantene is popular, but for many people I know it damages their hair. Supposedly.

I'm on the market for a good shampoo for thinning hair.

I usually get any number of products that are available majority of the time in beauty supply stores. A range of products, all midrange priced. I like Optimum Motions because it doesn't have an overly sweet smell, it's a rather light fragrant not really a high end product but it gets my hair clean without drying it out.

All soap is the same. It cleans, the smell gets washed off. You don't need shampoo that smells like a fruit salad.

Body soap, it ranges from as simple as Ivory to Zest to some lemon soap to Dr Bonner's to Caress to some Lancome stuff and so on and so forth, whatever I end up buying and whatever mood I happen to be in.

I don't use shampoo in the hair, i was losing my hair so i stopped usin it; and so far, i think it's been beneficial not to use it anymore.

Interesting GD topic! Dove is decent for guys, it smells a little too "mannish". I honestly detest and try to resist gender-specific scents and packaging in bathroom toiletries, such a scam. I use Neutrogena Morning Burst like its my jawb. I know I'm killing sea creatures and that sucks that the beads look like fish food to them. Been using it for like 10 years. A little Olay under the eyes bing bang boom.

My generous mother gifted me a massive bottle of "Wen by Chaz Dean" that lasts all year long, just about. Thats all I put in my hair since like pre2010. No gels or other products. I use that shit sparingly too as I've heard people's hair has fallen out from overusing or abusing it, the box even says to leave it on but I never do.

I do not use "deodorant" or "anti-perspirant" anymore because soap works just fine and doesn't leave aluminum particles all up in my biz. I used to have awful sweats, strangely they stopped once I discontinued using deodorant/anti-perspirant that looked like hair gel on my underarms daily.

Expensive shampoo, inexpensive body wash.

Honestly in our counytry, everything is marked up. Being the most remote developed country market in the world, we pay top dollar for everything imported from Europe and America (Not China strangely as our PM has agreed for NZ to become Wang Chow province 12 of the PRC at the rate we are going).

Anything imported in, will be slapped with 15% GST automatically then duties, tariffs and of course local costs and a markup fee, so for a 99 cent or $1 American shampoo, if it sells at $2, that is cheap. Also consider our NZ dollar is worth between 88 and 55 American cents, last year it was over 80 cents, now it has slumped to about 62 cents, so 99 cents is about $1.60 New Zealand anyway. Of course with the TPPA (Trade Pacific Partners Accord) being signed prices on American imports may drop. Besides for all I know Suave is probably made in China or Thailand like all our Shampoos now.

Makes sense. Though I must throw up the disclaimer, that though it goes for .99 at that store, in other stores I've seen it for almost $2, and I'm very sure there are places that will go over $2 so there's also things based on the retailers.

You have made an interesting statement, I've never checked if Suave is made in States, there's a strong possibility it's not but still be made in the Americas. I'm going to have to check that the next time I see it.

Head and Shoulders cause it's the best for anti dandruff, cheap fruity smelling conditioner and cheap MEN"S bodywash. Sometimes I use strawberry bubblebath for a bodywash cause the men's bodywash runs out so fast.

In a pinch I've used this to wash my hair but it's not something I'd trust to use on a regular bases for my hair type, but in those moments when you realize you haven't been shopping in a while it's works great at getting styling product out the hair and it has a little bit of oils so it doesn't strip the strands in a single washing. Though it's not really what I'd say expensive, it's not cheap so I use it sparingly unlike I use other products.

I recommend Dr. Bronner's soaps to everybody. It is a fantastic product that works well and you can feel good about using. It's got organic herbal ingredients, clean scents with little to no harsh synthetic chemicals or parabens, Fair traded, family-owned, been around for decades. The liquid soap is in concentrated form so if you dilute it properly, it is a very economical purchase (one $20 big bottle lasts me half a year). Peppermint is usually the least expensive in their line of soaps. That, rose and citrus are my favorites. Dr. Bronners soap is also highly versatile. In appropriate dilutions, you can use it to clean floors, wash dishes, wash clothes, shampoo hair, even brush your teeth with it. Searching online you can get consumer suggestions on how much to dilute the product with water depending on how you want to use it.

No, it's a small grocery store that sells natural/organic/environmentally responsible stuff. At decent prices.

Yeah, I use Dr.Bronner Tea Tree soap because you see the dirt fall off of you....LITERALLY! And I love the smell. The peppermint one cools your skin, so I would suggest using that in the summer time or when your hot.

Suave is cheap as hell...I don't use it.

We have plenty of Whole Food/Organic outlets and NOTHING is ever priced on the cheap..One Organic apple plucked from the Garden of Eden will cost you $5 bucks....I get grooming supplies and organic Honey/Coconut Oil and that's about it...The organic meats always call my name but I remain focused..

Peppermint is no joke, I just usually soak in that one, the Eucalyptus one also.

But this isn't a nationwide place. And it cost the same as it is at Target. The best thing is this isn't in a shopping mall, easier parking and the selection is guarenteed, there are a lot of location scattered throughout the city so I can partically swing by one on any errand. When I'm feeling splurgey I can get all the fragrances. Almond, Rose, Peppermint, and Unscented are my staples but I've gone to Euclyptus, Tea Tree, Citrus and Lavendar. I love having them all, though I rarely do, 'cause the people in my house think it's a free for all when they see so much.
