I will admit that I know very little about football. I know even less about American football. However, I have been watching it more in the last few weeks and find myself really enjoying it. I don't understand the rules but then that’s the case with all sports. But it does make for some interesting viewing. Unfortunately, living in Ireland as I do, most games are shown at one in the morning so I can't watch it as much as I'd like. I will be staying up for the Superbowl though. And I've put a bet on who's gonna win. I've never gambled before but I've put down 200 euro for the Patriots to win. So needless to say, I'll be extremely disappointed if they don't... |

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wild Card win each conference.
I have a feeling Seattle will rip Carolina's heart out in the divisionals. They've done it in Carolina in January before.
Pittsburgh is a vogue darkhorse pick, but they are limited by clear holes in the secondary and injuries. I'd actually like to see them make a deep run, because they are hte first team I ever loved, and the NFL is always more exciting when the Steelers play deep into January.
Does Manning have the 10 to 15 clutch throws in him that Denver will need to get back to the Super Bowl?
Are the Pats simply too banged up to repeat?
KC seems to have a good balance.

I don't know about that. Who did they beat this year so that they came away with an impressive win, revealing the Chiefs as a valid post-season threat? They beat the Steelers when Landry Jones was quarterbacking. They beat the Broncos when Osweiler was quarterbacking. They beat the sorry ass Chargers twice; they beat the kinda sorry ass Raiders twice; and split wins against the Broncos, losing their first encounter to a healthy (relatively) Peyton Manning.
I have my doubts.

Perhaps a Seattle/New England Super Bowl rematch?
I wouldn't count it out.
I also wouldn't count on New England to win it this time if it were to happen

It amazes me that Kansas City became a winning team after they beat the Steelers and Oakland became a losing team after they lost to the Steelers. I agree with you somewhat. I'm not impressed with Kansas City on the offensive side of the ball but those cats Tamba Hali and Houston get after the qb on the defensive side and Berry is a ballhawking safety. Don't laugh at my funk

That's fine; but I was speaking to the claim that the Chiefs are "beasts" when they haven't really defeated anybody who is really, really good.

Maybe beast is a strong word but honestly the Chiefs could beat anybody in the AFC in the playoffs. Each team has some issues/ Steelers - Ben throwing interceptions/ Patriots - 2 game losing streak there and Dolphins beat up on Brady good/ Broncos - QB... will Mainning play and if so which Manning will show up/ Bengals - new QB and haven't won a playoff since Full house was on TV/
Texans - Hey some one had to win the South. [Edited 1/6/16 10:31am] |

At their press conference the New York Giants owner admitted their flawed roster was to blame for two 6-10 seasons, not coaching. But the cat who put the flawed roster together gets to keep his job while the coach gets shown the door. Makes sense to me.... |

Tampa fired Lovie because they wanted to promote their OC Dirk Koetter to head coach. They didn't want to lose him to another team because the players love him. |

Unfortunately that's how the business works sometimes. If they would have retained Lovie he definitely would have needed a new DC. Don't laugh at my funk

DeAngelo Williams out Saturday, could play next weekend Posted by Michael David Smith on January 8, 2016, 9:04 AM EST DeAngelo Williams AP
The Steelers will be down to their third-string running back on Saturday in Cincinnati.
DeAngelo Williams will miss tomorrow’s game against the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. That leaves the Steelers, who already have Le’Veon Bell on injured reserve, down to Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman at running back.
That means the Steelers have a big question mark at running back. Toussaint had 18 carries for 42 yards and Todman had four carries for 22 yards, and neither of them caught a pass. The Steelers just don’t know how Toussaint and Todman will play as the primary running backs in the offense, because neither has done it yet.
The good news for the Steelers is that Williams’ foot/ankle injury appears to be healing well enough that he could play next week. If the Steelers win tomorrow at Cincinnati, they’ll play next on Sunday, January 17 at Denver.
But getting to Denver will be harder with Williams on the sideline.

Another year in which our RB are out for the playoffs. If the Steelers lose it will be because Ben threw way to many interceptions. |

I'm okay with Costas but I swear Chris Collinsworth gossips like an old church lady.
He's gotten better this season, thank heaven.

I like what the Chiefs do on defense. They have a Super Bowl caliber defense but there's not much they have on offense that scares me. TE Travis Kelce being one of them because he kills Pittsburgh eveytime they play at Arrowhead. Don't laugh at my funk
