Good reviews on RT and IMDB...don't know why it didn't get more coverage. I wouldn't have even known about it if not for a couple of Native American men I follow who told me about it. However, a couple of scenes...one in particular...had me about to lose my lunch. And I've seen all the Hostel movies.

Writing and dialogue was excellent. Kurt Russell was amazing.

Cool movie... Really cool when it just suddenly turned into a Lovecraftian horror thing...Really dug Kurt Russell and that "Lost" guy...
And as a western flick this was miles beyond the disappointingly boring "Hateful 8"...

Yeah...I took the kids and quickly regretted it (they're teenagers but STILL)...

It had some bits of hilarity, but overall I think that DeNiro deserves better.

When did they start allowing scenes in R-rated movies like the end of the shared bed one? I know it was fake, but still ... damn ....

And I can't remember ever seeing in a R-rated movie any woman get as much bare-ass time as Efron got.

If not for DeNiro, this movie wouldn't last more than 2 weeks in the theaters.

So - "Ant Man". Well, here we have a movie based on a comic book character. And this movie makes the same mistake EVERY STUPID MARVEL COMIC BOOK MOVIE makes. Who the Sam Hill thinks it's a good idea to spend 60 of the 100 minutes of a movie telling the origin story? No, really - who gives a rat's patooty about Tiny Paul Rudd's life before he became Ant Man? Trust me, if you think the origin story of ANY superhero is worth more than 3 minutes tops, then you have serious maturity issues. Because you are buying in to the fictional character waaaaaaaaaay too much.

You know one reason why the original "Star Wars" movie was the greatest movie ever? Because they spent three minutes on the back story; they did it through a scroll and not through horrendous acting; and then they got right to the blasters. ATTN STAN LEE - THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT. (I know Stan Lee doesn't write these stupid movies, but surely he can get this valuable advice to whoever does.)

Where do I begin sorting through the trainwrecks? Let's start with Tiny Paul Rudd. Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy? Does he have any #$%$#ing clue what kind of guy he is? He's explained as an ex-con who Robin Hooded some bad guy but it turns out Robin Hooding is against the law, so he went into the joint for 5 years. When he gets out, his now-6-year-old daughter recognizes him instantly. Dang, now THAT is a superpower!

But then later Tiny Paul Rudd experiences ONE LITTLE BASKIN ROBBINS-RELATED SETBACK so he instantly returns to crime, even though he knows it means jeopardizing future chances to see The Daughter With The Ididac Memory. Really? Boo, Tiny Paul Rudd! Booooo!!!!!!

And to whom does Tiny Paul Rudd turn to after making this monumentally bad decision?



Three dudes that you would not bet even money could tie their own shoes. Three stereotypes that should make you want to throw said shoes at your TV screen. These three morons are: (1) His...brother? I think that was his brother. Some dude that was the epitome of the Hispanic stereotype. A complete moron. Actually, an oxymoron since it was never established that Tiny Paul Rudd had any Hispanic heritage whatsover. (2) A Black Guy. The Black Guy was also a stereotype. At least in this movie, The Black Guy didn't get killed. (3) A.....Russian? Hard to tell, the accent was so bad. Could have been Czechoslavakian. I have a feeling that the screenwriters said, "Hey your lines aren't funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know - neither are anyone else's. But try an Eastern European accent and maybe we can fool some of the audience into thinking you're funny".

I haven't even gotten into the new fiance that Tiny Paul Rudd's wx-wife is engaged to. He's kind of supposed to be a jerk but in reality he is doing EXACTLY WHAT A REAL FATHER WOULD DO. You know, in the history of movies there is only one movie that has successfully solved the Old Dad/New Dad paradox. That movie is the Hillary Duff Disney Channel star-making vehicle, "Cadet Kelly". Really, you should watch that movie. It's awesome and the soundtrack kicks major tail. It has Macy Gray's "Relating to a Psycopath" on it - in a Disney Channel movie! "Cadet Kelly" is the Disney Channel's second-greatest movie, behind only "Motocrossed", which is another movie you should watch.

Well enough about characters who make no sense. Let's talk about Michael Douglas. Ugh.

What a great actor. Too bad he ruined his voice with 484,091,666 cartons of Marlboros. Good gosh, I don't think there's ever been an actor with worse Tobacco Voice than Douglas. He's going to be speaking through a hole in his throat soon, if he isn't already. Yechhh.

The bad guy in this movie is also a moron. (Note to self: I really need another word for "moron".) He's Douglas's protege but for some unexplained reason is bent on world domination. Hey Stan Lee - you want to waste some time on a backstory? Tell us why the bad guy is a bad guy, and why he wants to do whatever bad thing it is that he's trying to accomplish.

But what I didn't get about this bad guy was that on the one hand, he was unsuccessful in recreating Douglas's Incredible Shrinking Stuff, yet at the end of the movie he had his own shrinking suit and it was 100 times cooler than the Ant Man. The Yellow Jacket not only could shrink and fly and all that, but he had laser antennae. WTF did he need the Ant Man suit for?

This is sad but the funniest line in the whole movie was when Tiny Paul Rudd got introduced to the Ant Man suit. After rebigulating, he tells Douglas, "I think our first move should be to get the Avengers involved". I laughed hard at that! Get a make-believe comic book group involved! Chortle chortle chortle! But then five seconds later I realized he was serious. He really DID want to get the Avengers involved, because in Tiny Paul Rudd's Ant Man universe, the Avengers were a real thing. I forgot that.

I guess one thing led to another, the Three Stooges somehow helped Tiny Paul Rudd do something, I was supposed to cry when a flying ant got shot, yadda yadda yadda.



In conclusion, I can only say this about "Ant Man":

It has taken a whole lot of the buzz out of me wanting to see "Dead Pool", for no other reason than "Ant Man" is yet another comic book movie failure, so why wouldn't "Dead Pool" be a failure to?

Still gonna see "Dead Pool" though! Those Dead Pool Valentines were sick!

I liked a few tracks and appreciated her talent but I knew very little about her personal life prior to watching this. I remember seeing terrible tabloid shots of her, seeing the clips from the Belgrade concert and I remember when she died....I thought, well...that's not surprising.

This doc doesn't bring to light anything that I didn't already assume was happening but it was certainly an interesting watch. I definitely recommend it.

It's the one on netflix? if it's so, i like it but not much it's too much based on her private life and it's depressing.

SISTERS-A 1973 Brian DePalma flick. Pretty cool template for many of DePalmas' later films. Margot Kidder is sexy/cute/crazy. Didn't finish it, but would recommend it for sure. THE TOWN(extended cut)- very decent bank-robber/heist movie. This film made me like Ben Affleck AND Blake Lively, so how's that for a recommendation? Jeremy Renner is the best thing in it. Fun fact; this film has Batman, Daredevil, Star Sapphire, Hawkeye, Hansel AND Jon Hamm in it!

Sisters scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. Still love it. Margo Kidder was excellent!

Wonderful doc. I loved it! Amy was such a great talent. It's such a shame we will not hear anymore amazing music from her. Makes me very sad.
