I re-watched the The Rock vehicle "Faster" this afternoon. And I do mean "vehicle" - love that '70 Chevy LS454 Chevelle!

Then my daughter came home and said, "Let's have a movie night!" Awesome! But understand one thing:

The Hateful Eight= 8. Always a fan of QT's dialogue and casting picks. Looking forward to the bluray extras. Spectre= 6. Bond. Boring Bond.

CREED 8/10 Yesterday I went to the cinema to see Creed. It is the latest chapter in the Rocky franchise and follows on from Rocky Balboa. I truly enjoyed the film and a section of it made my eyes weep a little. Rocky has always been in my top 3 movies of all time, but I was surprised by emotion Rocky's new fight brought up in me. Great movie, sections and circumstances were a little unbelievable in places and found boxers stats unnecessary but it was all held together by some great performances. Go see and fly high. I just watched The Hateful Eight in glorious 70 mm in Amsterdam. Contrary to Graycap, I enjoyed each and every minute of this three hour film. (Although sitting down for that long gets a bit tedious, thankfully there's an intermission.) The images of the stagecoach riding through the snowy mountains were so beautiful, the way the camera studies those bearded or beat-up faces and then the music of the one and only Ennio Morricone- what's not to love if you're Sergio Leone/Tarantino fan like me? Sure, there's lots of talking and talking and nigger this and nigger that and gory violence, but it's Tarantino we're talking about, so that shouldn't surprise or shock anyone anymore. And all the dialogue helps to move the story forward, which is ultimately about people who are not what they say they are. Everybody has a hidden agenda and slowly those hidden agendas are unveiled and then it explodes into a bloodbath. Wow. I love how Tarantino keeps reinventing himself. It's typical QT, but at the same time it looks different from his other movies. These were three hours that went by in no time. If you don't like QT, forget about it. If you do, you'll love it.

I saw The Martian over the weekend. It was good, but not great. Matt Damon was also good, but not great. I don't think his performance was Oscar worthy.

It certainly wasn't. That movie remined me of Interstellar and Gravity. Hollywood has very little imagination. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

I actually liked Gravity a lot, but the acting in that movie and The Martian was not Oscar worthy. Sometimes I think they forget what great acting really is.

The revenant 2.75 out of 5. Very well acted. Especially Tom and Leo. Beautiful landscape, but it's a revenge/hardship story, you can only go so far (Although, I don't see how you could have done better.).
99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
