I have to go to a high school today for a health fair and talk with students and parents about sex...safer sex...


Are there any messages I should take with me from the Org...what would say to a 17 year old high school student if you had the chance...

I was thinking of telling the girls not to go for the "just let me put the head in" line...

Also, let 'em know that oral sex is VERY intimate. These days kids are incredibly nonchalant about giving/getting head. It's damn near replaced kissing as the thing to do when you're hanging out

I taught at a high school that actually had a daycare inside the school. Most students attended the school, but some dropped off the children.

The best presentation about sex that seemed to reach the students was a drama performed by a professional group.

I am not sure what can be said to the average student.

Always, always use some form of birth control... don't trust that if he pulls out that you won't get pregnant.

YES! AND, that they should use a form of birth control that also protects them from STDs...that would be helpful and would also include any homosexual students that are in the audience. They won't need to worry about getting someone pregnant or getting pregnant themselves (if they have partners of the same sex), but could need to worry about getting/transmitting STDs.
I think you should talk about dental dams too.

Say, "If you get pregnant at 17, KISS YOUR FREEDOM GOODBYE." Or something like that...

Give them an in depth description of all the other STDs besides HIV that they can conract, and explain how several of them are incurable and costly and painful to treat.

When I was in highschool they said practically nothing about HSV, HPV, Hepatitis, etc...
