The Star Wars Holiday Special Fess up, who here has seen it? I remember being in the sixth grade and stumbling across it on Google Video. I also remember being completely flaberghasted at how awful it, not even Episode I was this bad! I ended up revisiting it a few weeks ago to write a review of it for my TV Production class and now that I'm a film buff and actually finished the entire thing, I can say it's even worse than I thought it was! The lack of effort put into this is insane, the lack of coherance it has makes me wonder why anyone actually kept a recording of it. I'm fine with them recyling footage from the first movie, and I understand that Mark Hamill looks different because of a car accident, but this special has almost nothing to do with Star Wars, or real holidays!
Anyway, it's a funny little piece of Star Wars history and whatwith the new film coming out next week and all, it might be fun to take a peek at it, just to see how absurd it is and how much you can stomach
Here's a link to the full special on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/w...4CtXcjib4o

Most Star Wars fans have seen it. Most of us alive when Star Wars came out watched it on TV, that was an event in itself. The cartoon with Boba Fett was cool. I do like all the scenes with the cast from Star Wars. All the other stuff was bad with Art Carney, Bea Arthur, Harvey Korman, and Diahann Carroll (wow where is Sonny Bonno and Charo????).

I have it on a bootleg dvd and can only get half way thru it without either pouring another cocktail or going to bed. Its really really bad. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Oh I watched it when it was on. Even less remembered is the show that preceded it - Christmas With The Starland Vocal Band.

I'm actually old enough that I saw it when it originally aired. Still can't believe someone thought it was a good idea to have an old wookiee getting horny while watching Diahann Carroll perform a musical number!
