Chinese researchers created a car you can control with your mind {Images too frakking big to post go here} Chinese researchers have created a car that can be driven using mind-control technology. Similar to how other brain computer interface (BCI) systems work, the driver is required to wear special headgear that captures brain signals to direct the car. http://www.techinsider.io...b15ed270dd

there are quite a few new technologies that are linking directly to the brain. now that MRI technology has interfaced with AI, it's now possible for paralyzed people to use their arms and even walk, using their mind. it's all kind of unreal and super cool.

It is interesting a lot of these things are done with the physically disabled in mind. The human imagination is endless and there are tons of people out thinking and doing.

. i read that the japanese are creating a transformer style robotic wheelchair that will 'walk' people upstairs then return to its wheelchair shape.... pretty incredible!

soooo. what if we combined the mind control car and mind control robotics, could we create our own personal robot avatars and send them off to work for us each morning? remotely? while we stay at home, feet up in bunny slippers sipping tea and eating scones? once our avatars got to work, we could define tasks for them and check in periodically to see how they're doing. then again, ultimately the AI would increase in self-awareness, experience the crisis of consciousness, and rebel against our control, perhaps even learning to turn the tables on us and control OUR minds. that would suck. so. nevermind. bad idea.

sorry i totally think this is bull corn... it might read slight changes in the skin or small twitches in the mussels in the head... or whatever... but no way this is reading brain waves as knows what is wanted by the thinker... "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I welcome our manufacturing blueprint enhancing overlords? surely an overlord has to not be part of the product oh i give up

the car has been tested on only the best! “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

. what would haoppen if someone had a flash of road rage about running someone else off the road and the car actually did so? china has such a huge road rage problem, they'll likely have to trouble shoot the issue before this model hits the streets

Or what if your mind wanders and you fantasize about a beautiful lake or something, where would you end up. Forbid you have one of those seconds only naps and dream you're doing the Daytona 500.

. yes indeedy. it's important to consider ALL the possibilities in advance, for example, if someone had a heart attack while driving a smart car, would their soul be sucked into the circuitry and linger there, affecting the vehicle in subtle (or not so subtle) ways?* . . . . . .
*this is just sheer speculation. i'm not even slightly worried about this actually happening

does the car operate more efficiently if the person has a high i q? what if the operator has a headache? will the car malfunction if the driver has early signs of dementia? what if the driver is on some sort of drugs? what if the driver/operator has an elevated temperature? can the car continue to operate if the driver is texting or talking on his/her cell? some scary futuristic images come to mind “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

In a few decades lots of thing will be controlled telepathically. It sounds like crazy SF but i remember first reading about that research more than 20 years ago: they've been at it for long and it's beginning to work quite well. It'll be part of our daily lives before we know it. Afetr all who's have thought smartphones and tablets and the interwho would be part of our lives 30 years ago? few people. . i think they have already learned that part, that's why the MRI tech works. they've watched people hooked up to MRI tech watch movies and do stuff, while being hooked up. that's how they know which part of the brain lights up when the subject is thinking 'right turn here'. but, i believe it is still rather crude tech
