Take care of yourself, honey. I know cancer is a scary word, but stage 0, you'll be totally fine.
And hey, next time you're bleeding from any body part, please don't wait two days to find out why. Good heavens. . .

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes...
I'm okay and I'm going to be okay... like I said, it's in Stage 0, which means that the cancer is only on the surface of my cervix and has not yet spread to other areas or spread deeper into the tissue. Everything should be able to be destroyed with the laser. There is a HUGE lesson for me here, though. I've had abnormal paps in the past and have had to have surgery to remove the abnormal cells, which were not yet cancerous, but in the final stages of pre-cancer, and I am supposed to go in for pap's twice a year. I've slacked on this quite a bit. Not only does having abnormal cells in the past put me at a higher risk for developing cancer of the cervix, but the fact that I was a smoker for many years, as well as knowing that cancer runs in my family and two family members have had cancer of the uterus. So... I'm just looking at this as if I simply have abnormal cells and that it's all going to be okay. Cancer is a huge fear of mine, since it's taken the lives of many around me, and I don't want to think that I have it or get into the midset that it's gotten to me, even though I know it did. My main concern right now is figuring out how I am going to pay for the surgery as I don't have any medical insurance. Another lesson; I shouldn't have passed up on getting it through work because I didn't want to pay the money for it each week. But yet, I can justify spending money on light up ice-cubes... So, women... get your regular paps and if you have had abnormal cells in the past... do what you're supposed to do! It is extremely important! I only went in for mine this last time because I was having problems with pain and finally broke down and went in for a pap, otherwise, I wouldn't have even went in. As for the blood in the urine... what a thing to wake up to! Although, knowing what I know now... it was a blessing. Edit: Another very important thing to always remember to do: update your medical records each and every time you move or get new phone service with a new number. I know it's only a matter of common sense, but sometimes we don't always think of everyone to inform. . [This message was edited Wed Mar 26 23:24:45 PST 2003 by AzureStar]

At any rate, best wishes and prayers to you... Bladder infections, yes... actually peeing a stream of blood, no. I missed this December... maybe that's why? Edit: I'm wondering if because I now drink loads of cranberry juice, if it somehow doesn't mask the symptoms of a bladder infection, and that is why I had it so bad this time and never knew that I did. Usually when I have gotten them there is some sort of symptom associated with it. . [This message was edited Thu Mar 27 5:49:41 PST 2003 by AzureStar]

I've received a few notes from women on here who have had this laser surgery and they've told me what to expect, so I won't be going into this blind. As for this annoying bladder infection... I could make one heck of a horror movie still... I am guessing that it will take a few days of the antibiotics to stop the bleeding because it hasn't stopped just yet!

Just take it easy and relax...let your body heal and it'll go away soon. Make sure you drink lots of uncarbonated/non-caffinated beverages. That will help too. I know how bad these things suck. I've had three of them in the past six months. Do you know when you're going for your surgery?

Since I've stopped drinking the cranberry juice like they told me to, there is pain now. I was strictly a water girl today. I go in Monday morning for the surgery and then off to work I go. I can't afford to miss work and they said that I may have cramping, but that they would prescribe pain killers if need be. If it's anything like the Cryosurgery that I've had before it won't be too bad afterwards.

You take good care of yourself and be well, my dear...I will be thinking of you!... Hi, Belle and thanks... Did you get any new charms lately? I bought a couple more since we last talked. (What was that web address again)? Azure which new charms did you buy?...(and, here's the the link to that site, hun www.charmedimsure.net click on "Charm Bracelets" then scroll down to click the "Charm Directory" link) ...I still have the same four links left to fill on my bracelet...lol...I want to add a hope chest to it and have been looking around to find one---particularly when I was in Canada---however, I didn't find a hope chest charm that I truly loved the while I was there. I do love the chest offered at Charmed I'm Sure though...I was able to actually see it in the mall not to far home and so I know that it has a bit more weight to it which I like. And, because I didn't find one elsewhere I'm going back to get their's... With you having a bracelet with smaller links, Azure, you have a lot of charms to add and/or find ...fun! The charms at Charmed I'm Sure are truly as beautiful as the pictures of them at the site suggests they are... ...(only one thing though, I got a lipstick charm from them and the red paint has chipped away on the tip, so maybe avoid buying their charms that rely on paint (stones are better) as part of the design, but, also, I think they'll replace it for you. I will find out if they will when I go to get the chest...they just may end up needing to do that for you constantly if they will do so...lol)... ...and, I think you'll be happy with whatever you would buy from them... Me, I just have 30 links and it's amost done, but it has been so much fun to add each and every one of the charms that I have to my charm bracelet... So, Azure, what did you get?...lol...
