Usually a bladder infection that you've had for a while, but didn't really notice.

Is it a little or a lot? It's a more than a little, less than a lot. It's not completely blood, but there's enough to make it all dark pink. It just happened. I haven't been sick or feeling ill, other than this cold that I'm getting over.

That is what I will be focusing on today while I work... wouldn't I have other symptoms of a bladder infection, or no?

Sometimes I don't drink enough water and the acid builds enough to cause the infection (guessing). Another thing can be burning, or only a little bit of pee. But I've had it as you described and never had any other symptoms.

Probably a bladder infection Azure. I used to get that all the time, it hurts like hell.
You have to get to a doctor asap, it can go into your kidneys and you can get very, very sick. Once they give you medicine you will get instant relief, but you should really go to the doctor, like NOW. I take cranberry pills everyday and drink a lot of water because I'm prone to bladder infections. It helps. Good luck. Now get your ass to a clinic or something.

But deffinately get that checked out TODAY! OK? Hopefully it's just a slight infection that will clear up in no time. But don't let it get worse. All Rights Reserved. |

I've called the doctor. I have an appointment for Friday morning. Until then, I guess I have to worry and wait. The appointment scheduler: "If you experience any pain associated with it, give us a call and we'll get you in earlier". I'm thinking I'll be making a call saying I have pain so I can get in sooner.

I drink Cranberry Juice and Water like it's going out of style... but, I also drink tons of tea. Usually I have pain when I get bladder infections and have never bled because of one. But, I'm going with this. Thanks, all... I'm off to work...

Heather, you need to go now. Go to urgent care. I get bladder infections all the time too, and like Carrie I take cranberry pills and drink lots of water. This is very serious. The infection grows really fast and you could end up in the hospital if you wait until Friday. Whenever I get one I go to a walk-in clinic and they take me as an urgent care patient because a bladder infection is considered urgent. If you're bleeding that is the sign of a really bad infection.

( You do have to see a doctor right away or it can go into the kidneys!) . [This message was edited Wed Mar 26 8:09:38 PST 2003 by Muse2noPharaoh]

This happened to me once. Started out like you described (not a lot of blood in the urine but a bit pink) early in the afternoon, but by 8 that night it looked like tomato juice.
It was very scary and I went to Urgent Care. They asked if I had any other symptoms at all like pain or whatever, but I didn't. However, after running a urine test they told me I had a bladder infection (they were kind of surprised that I didn't have any other symptoms besides the blood in the urine..) and gave me antibiotics. After one big horse pill the blood stopped and a week later I was fine and fortunately I've never had it happen again. Azure, PLEASE don't wait until Friday about this. Go to a Walk-In clinic or Urgent Care. All they have to do is a quick exam and a urine test and they can tell you if it's a bladder infection, and give you antibiotics. Your clinic is ridiculous to make you wait on this. Take care and FEEL BETTER SOON.

NO! You should go to an urgent care clinic tonight when you get off. It could go to your kidneys very, very quikly. And if it does, you won't be going to work at all. I had a bladder infection that went to my kidneys overnight... I felt HORRIBLE! They could end up hospitalizing you if it gets bad. Blood is a sign that it IS bad already and only going to get worse. You need antibiotics ASAP

Well, at least she's not signed in anymore; hope this means she's on her way to the doctor. That's not something to fool around with.

Sounds like you might have a kidney infection but then again it could be caused from a broken vein in your bladder, my mom had that same problem, the doctors had to run a wire through her ying yang up into her bladder to repair the vein, hope this helps ya out a little. sorry didn't mean to scare ya.
