Who Regrets Going Into The "Politics & Religion" Forum?

I know I do... though I never technically went there... my thread was sent there and I foolishly followed.

I'm gonna chill from there for awhile and maybe... just maybe, I'll peek in there from time to time to see if I still like some of the people I thought I liked, and don't like some of the people I thought I disliked. Cuz, some of the people I thought I liked have some real distorted views... and some of the people I thought I disliked have some pretty cool views... confuse

Anyway... uh... what?

I've only posted very rarely in the P & R Forum. However, I'm glad that I started one particular thread there, because it resulted in me getting sent a wonderful gift from a certain Orger.

It is a breakdown of death row population and executions in America.

I think I'm going to stop going there too, but it's nice to here what others think, you can't scold them cuz what they believe in, I don't agree with half of the people in there, but hey I respect you for voicing your own opinon... Anyways half of what they say in the P&R people talking sh*t nod I would advice a new orger not to go

I check the forum everyday, but rarely post there anymore.
I started a thread
yesterday about the media...it may not even belong there.
I liked the forum better before the "war" talk started.
One of the subjects people used to discuss was how divisive
religion is. I agree, religion divides, but not as bitterly as politics.
Nationalism is a religion itself and now I see that one's political views
are also venerated by some.
And to think...some of these same persons make fun of the faith that Christians have.
It seems that all have faith in something, whether it be weapons of war,
man(Bush), country, money, or something else.
Some, it seems have even elevated themselves in the place of God.
The other day, someone told us rather loudly to GET OFF OUR KNEES and BLAH BLAH BLAH...curse...curse...curse!!!
I'm thinking... "HE" wants to be our God. He wants us to obey him.
Anyway...I hope the P&R forum will soon have a bit more focus on spirituality.

Hi June7...that's what good about the forum actually.
It allows you to see the heart of the
individual rather than just his lighter side.
It allows one to get to see the real person.
Valuable insight...I think.

I don't necessarily regret it but I do have to take a break from it. Everyone thinks they know the answers over there and god forbid if you don't have a link to back it up. And god forbid if you hear something on the news in America, because according to SOME Europeans it's not true.

It's very frustrating. The last post I read was someone saying that after this war people are going to like Saddam more than Bush.

This is true... but more often, I'm shocked at what I read. I never really knew just how unpopular we (the United States) really is (according to the folks in the P&R forum)... sigh

I don't regret it but I have made a choice to avoid it.

It seems like a certain group of people just want to argue about things that they can't control rather then do something about them.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when it sounds like a skipping cd, I need a new disc.

Posting negativity on a web site takes a lot less effort I guess.

It's an interesting forum with lots of very intelligent, informative, thought provoking posts that have made me look at situations differently and therefore help me form my own opinions and views on various subjects.

But it mostly it'ss frustrating, gives me a headache, and raises my blood pressure so I don't usually go in there very often. neutral
