Since Halloween is upon us... Suggest a Great Scary Movie.....

I don't like blood and guts and chainsaws, but a creepy thriller would be great. Anyone have any favorite scary movies they can recommend?

The original 1970's "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark"....No blood, no gore, no corpses..but still one of the SCARIEST made for TV movies ever....and don't look for a happy, satisfiying ending either.

I've read that this movie, Don't Look Now, is considered one of the best horror films of all time.

Right actor, wrong movie... but maybe you knew that. I showed "Don't Look Now" to my film class at a university. They laughed! It has not aged well.

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Village of the Damned (1960)

The Haunting (1963)

and though it's not scary, it's a great time to watch Ed Wood (1994).

All of these are perfect Halloween movies (you want that sense of mystery, of being stalked, less gore/blood)

Add Escape From New York

something about 1970s movies

Well Escape from New York came out in 1981 but yeah most of the movies I picked were from the late 70's to early 80's. Great period for John Carpenter's movies.

I do love the original Carrie! Stephen King is awesome! Can you believe I've never seen the Omen or Rosemary's Baby? I'm probably the only person in the world who hasn't.....

Well there was one remake back in 2006. There is Damien: Omen 2 (1978) which was pretty good. Then there was Omen 3 The Final conflict (1981) didn't really care for that one. Lastly Omen 4: The awakening (1991) was not bad considering it was made for TV.

I haven't seen this one yet. I just saw it was on Netflix. Do you really have to choose between the two, I liked Let Me In a lot.

Secret Window is due for a rewatch.

I II and III I liked. All connected

all the others were weak

the other remake was called Megiddo. A total copy of the Omen

Over time, Repulsion has become one of my favorite movies, so I highly recommend it.

If you will, so will I
