Did you ever listen to his songs?

And recall a faint memory from one of them about this very subject?

Also: why is `weed` so special? (in your world)

.

I know why it is 'illegal' , so do not bother me about that.

This isn't really a coherent response . . your line of thought isn't flowing in a consistent direction

Do I listen to the songs?

I'm on a Prince message board, it's safe to assume I listen to his music. As noted in this thread there's conflicting information if we go by the lyrics

There's nothing in my posts (or "in my world") that would indicate that I see weed as special

Then to assume I'm going to go into some rhetoric about reform for marijuana laws . . it's like you just took a bunch of assumptions and jumped out the window with them neutral

When you enter a thread, try to notice a discussion is taking place. Once you have that in mind, follow along and add something to it. If you had done that you would see varying points of perspective and references to various points in his career, even pictures. Don't just respond to the thread title

Use the latest song to get an idea of the current (du jour) approach to whatever.

Then why ask about a very useful plant?

Why hot ask about coffee, thee, cheese or ham?

I do not assume anything.

You brought in the weed thing.

You correlated it to mr Prince in a question.

I did not 'just' respond.

I explained you a source of information.

You didn't even understand that.

To assume what I understand is obviously beyond the realm of your expertise

There's little relevance to the rest of your post so until you have something useful to add I won't be responding to you

"Why ask about weed?"

Why ask about anything dude . . . seriously, what came first the chicken or the egg?

There was a point that I decided I wanted to ask about this and so far in this thread there's been over 50 replies. Other people are interested in discussing it as well, if you're not then find a thread on a topic you'd rather discuss

Why is obsession always bad? It can be good too. Prince is clearly obsessed with making music. Is that a bad thing? Perhaps you meant "addiction"?

I still do, but I don't buy illegal substances outside of my own country, so all I've got left is booze nod

what about "Bhang" , isn't it legal in India ?

Well maybe just for the Hindus for religious reasons...... visited a few B-Lassi-shops travelling there wink

Concerning Prince I would expect he is 99,9 % sober and that's all good !

On the other hand an occasionally smoke or green grass vapours can result in some great music.

In "recent" years listening to Lotusflow3r,specially Boom made me think he had this experience again (after the 90s )

He's a musician. Many of his heroes have experimented with substances, Sly, George, Jimmy etc.

It wouldn't be that surprising? I can't imagine he's ever been a heavy user of anything. He doesn't look anywhere close to his age.

Let's start at the beginning:

How autobio or whatever are P's references to smoking in general? ("all I've got is to two cigarettes...")

I think he wrote that song for Jill Jones or some other woman that was a smoker, and then decided to do it himself.

The only actual Prince reference I've ever seen to Prince smoking is the pantomime he did of taking a puff on a cancer stick and then crushing it out during the "Parade" tour.

he drinks alcohol, occasionally.

There are several devices around the net.

One example that I know is, he and his band members killed a bottle of port wine together with some tacos at the NPG afterparty after the ONA concert in Frankfurt, October 2002.

Man.

I knew i shoulda hung out longer lol

The first night they played PR in full on that tour.

Probably drove him to recoup!

Prost!

Yeah because potheads and other kinds of junkies are so well known for releasing 30-some albums in 30-some years and having who knows how many more thousands of songs sitting in a vault. LOL @ the question

I suspect he smokes every once in a while but it isn't a regular thing. A joint every now and again to get the creative juices flowing is just what some people need sometimes. Prince always struck me as a brownie kinda dude. Smoking is still smoking and it still buggers up your health/voice all the same. So that is probably why he strikes me as a brownie dude. If he was doing anything harder there would be cause for concern though.
