Such a loaded question. What would "where I want to be" even look like? I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.
But...my job (I'm a copywriter) has gotten a lot more creative in the last year. The powers that be at the company where I work finally figured out what I can do - despite my telling them for years - and have given me work that is more in line with my talent. So while I'm not making the kind of money I'd like (and that I should be making), I'm more satisfied. And that's a HUGE step up from where I was before.
I'm doing a play right now - with another one coming up next month, and possibly a non-dancing role with a local ballet company in December. Two more auditions for very promising opportunities later this season, too.
I also have a stack of patterns and fabric that I want to turn into clothing at some point. There just isn't enough time!
That's good. I think satisfaction in what you do is extremely important. That's something that I currently seek. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. |

Not really, but fingers crossed!
I write, so its a time thing for me. I really should do a minimum of 2hrs a day but working full time, plus all the other time pressures in life, this isn't happening at the mo. I've had one book released so far, earnt me enough for a nice holiday but that's it. Its going to be a struggle until I earn enough from it to jack in the nine-to-five office job ... but that's the plan.. |

What kind of stuff do you write? |

I didn't have any big aspirations apart from working indoors away from rain and insects so I've don't really well - I'm in a position right now that is unbelievable and unimaginable in its potential and even if nothing more happens than this, the fact that this stay at home mum is being taken seriously as a songwriter blows my mind. I can't sing or play any instruments but I can get a demo together nonetheless, and that makes me happier than a pig in custard. I'm the mistake you wanna make |

The book was non-fiction, a history of horror films. I followed my Dad's advice (which I'm fairly sure he stole from elsewhere!)..."write what you know". So I started with films. Second book I turned into a website and I've no moved on to writing fiction. |

Thanks, that's very sweey of you ... let me know if you want it signed!
One of the reasons I wrote it was the books I was finding on the subject weren't all that good, recommending films that weren't even scary movies...American Psycho for example, one of the best black comedies of all time!
Do you write yourself? |

Do you write yourself? I wanted to when I was younger but I wasn't any good. So I went on the x factor and here I am. |

I read earlier in the thread you did music...that was through X-Factor? Very cool!! Did you make it on to TV?
I find writing to be great therapy, even if I'm just writing a diary or something. You should try taking it up again... |

I did fairly well but there was another girl on it in my group who looks similar to me so it came down to me and her and she was better so they went with her. It's a bit stupid that they had less talented people go through because they had a different look. The bastards! Not that I'm bitter about it or anything. |

I'd take it as a compliment that they chose someone else as those shows always go for looks over talent. Can you imagine someone like Prince or Bowie turning up to do one of those shows? They wouldn't get through the door!! Love to hear some of your stuff, is it available online? |
