Did your Hometown SUCK? Did anybody grow up in a small town that sucked? Especially born there like me as opposed to your family moving to a small town for job reasons? I think I'm going to have to kick a International Purple tour to "Escape" this mf!

Nope, my hometown was awesome. It spoilt the living heck out of me. I miss it. It's changed a lot, some for the better, some not so good.

What town and state? Mine was Graham, Texas... Most people I talk to in Dallas and my homies in Dallas says my hometown sounds bunk to them! [Edited 10/7/15 11:34am]

San Diego CA, growing up it was half the size it is now, it was a different vibe then. Finding it hard to find a similar one.

Oh, But I bet you had plenty to do when it was half the size it was when you were you growing up...?
What was the population back then?
Try 6,000 country folks with nothing to do but watch tv, lame bowling, maybe some weak fishing, or count the stars in the sky at night.

I thought mine did but now looking back, I miss it. Of course, everyone knew everyone, something I hated at the time but now that I'm in a big city I miss that.

Hometown was Detroit City . . . was great in the 70's, but right around 1980 it was like someone turned a light switch off. It started declining almost immediately.

Was born in the desert, didn't get to see the city till my teens. There's not much to do in Doha as it is very small, but its kinda laid back & suits my personality.
I would love to move to LA though, but thats just only wishful thinking.

Born and raised in Seoul, Korea...same as my parents...never left the city till I was 18 to go to the States and I fell in love with the country. Seoul is a safe city with all the latest technology and all but I'd like to go back to the States someday

I actually have some fond memories of Buffalo as I have attend many, many concerts there over the past 35 years. Not sure what it's like to live there, but the snow alone scares the hell out of me and I'm used to snow.

I grew up in a really horrible place. Burnt out cars, drug deals done in the open during the day (in a playground), I lost count of how many times my house was broken into. Near where I lived there was an alley that my older sister always warned me not to go down because 3 girls were raped there (one of them died). I couldn't wait to get out of that place.

Oh my, no it was far past 6,000 people, so yes there was and still is a lot to do. Everybody said it had a small town feel while I was growing up, and that's coming from people who grew up on farms in Kansas or steel towns like Steubenville, OH among other places. I took their word for it.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. As an adult, I came to nearly hate that place, with an absolute certainty it sucked. [Edited 10/8/15 21:32pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Where was that????? A place in Dublin called Ballymun. I should point out that not everyone there was the same, but still, I was afraid walking home from school every day. Where I live now is really quiet. It's great!

I'm from a village in Holland that nobody here has heared of. (But not too far from Amsterdam) I won't say it sucked, but there wasn't really much to do. And if your job is also in that village and you meet your co-workers on the streets or in the only supermarket, then you get a little caught up in that small world. (Especially if you get romantically involved with one of them, however brief.)So I've got nothing against the place, but getting away from there was a good thing. [Edited 10/9/15 2:20am]
