Have any of you heard of this show "Badly Breaking"? About a middle class teacher trying to support his family and how they are all mad at him over it?
It is no "Malcolm's In the Middle" but it is pretty good!
I was about to tell you who hasn't heard of Friends...I guess I'm beginning to show my age....
Glad you're enjoying them. I was not into those shows at all during it's run though I remember the popularity, and everyone including me had the Rachel haircut in the late 90's, and I remember the theme song being a top 40 hit.
The Original Poster mentioned seeing/knowing Full House which ended in 1995...Friends debut in 1994...So I'd think someone would remember both shows since they began in the 90's..I don't think Friends picked up steam until years later...
Almost finished with season 7, gotta watch The One with the Vows, rewatch the one with Chandler's dad (played by Kathleen Turner), and rewatch the one with Chandler and Monica's wedding.
Sexton, I don't know if you have the time to watch them but I encourage you (and everyone else) to read these primers on 70s and 80s sitcoms.

Having been born in the 60s, I've seen numerous episodes of almost all the sitcoms in those links, usually when they first aired too. Many of them were good in their day, but I would not watch them repeatedly now. My tolerance for comedies is very low at this stage in my life with two of my choices being more because I appreciate their style and art direction. And I picked WKRP in Cincinnati because of the music references. It has nothing to do with how significant they are in the history of television.
I started watching Park & Recreation, which I didn't watch when it was out. I kind of like that. Most sitcoms I did watch at the time they aired I haven't gone back to review beyond catching an episode here and there.
I'm sitting here cracking up that we've reached a point in time where viewing audiences can't place shows from a mere 20 years back. Growing up in the 70's and 80's we could at least stretch our pop culture knowledge back 30 years, usually even back to 40. I think we probably have so much disposable entertainment by way of the digital age and social media that attention spans aren't checking for shows from last year let alone a decade or more

Carol Burnett was on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" recently. She said that due to the release of her shows on DVD, she is now getting fan mail from young viewers. With Netflix and all that other online stuff, there's no reason the young 'uns should be missing out on the classics!
I'm planning on doing chronological watches of the following now that the dvds have significantly dropped in price.
Cheers (netflix)
Frasier (netflix)
Roseanne
The Nanny
The Golden Girls
I Love Lucy
The Dick Van Dyke Show (netflix)
Three's Company
All in the Family/Archie Bunker's Place
Everybody Loves Raymond (netflix)
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Wings
The Honeymooners (classic 39)
Mad About You (if 6 and 7 ever get released, damn music licensing issues)
edit: and Designing Women. I may remember some other shows I've forgotten, though a lot of popular ones you may think of I have little interest in.

Check your local library, they may have them.
Frasier is awesome. I miss that show!
I also recommend The Jeffersons and Different Strokes.
Different Strokes had a few good "teachable" moments for kids back in the day . I sent some of my American friends here in the EU the episode about pedophiles and kiddie porn so they could broach the "stranger danger" topic with their blissfully oblivious European raised children. That's what I get nostalgic for in the older shows: those PSA moments that give a little depth to TV watching.
