I'm not really into comedians. So, I only know the mainstream ones.
I like Amy Schumer and Louie, they have their own tv shows, so I know them.
And the last live show I went to, was Russel Brand. I Really loved his show. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Number 1 for me has to be Richard Pryor. Not just for what he said but in how he said it. Genius. The ones that stand out in my mind are Bernie Mac, (young) Eddie Murphy, George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield, who I'm shocked hasn't been mentioned more on this thread. All these years and still no respect.

I think that Sinbad, in the past, has been terribly underrated. He killed in that HBO special "Son of a Preacher Man." I thought he was pretty funny in Houseguest, too, despite the fact that the movie itself was just okay. I thought he more that held his own with Phil Hartman, who is also hilarious; his (Hartman's) portrayal of Bill McNeal on NewsRadio, in my opinion, was one of the best TV characters ever.
